Fresh Provisions is a perfect example of how Perth businesses build a great business, than rest of their laurels. Fresh Provisions was one of the first to go with the upmarket fruit and vege theme. But since then they have stopped evolving. They still have the mix of fruit and vege, deli, flowers, butcher and groceries, but so does a lot of places these days. Their range of gourmet take away meals are not bad, but on the pricey side. They do have a big range of cheeses and salads, but nothing spectacular or outstanding. They talk about their passionate staff, in my last few experiences I haven’t see anyone passionate, bored and nonchalant maybe.

Since the fresh food market inside Claremont Quarter opened, ol’ faithful Fresh Provisions has become a little dreary. Once a favourite go-to for gourmet take-away meals like salads, curries, pastas and cutlets of meat; these foods all seem to be prepared with less love every time I visit. The same recipes are displayed behind the deli counter, and I’m just bored with the selection to be honest. The quality and selection of raw meats, cheeses and fresh fruit and veg is still good but in comparison to newer, brighter food markets, Freshies has drifted off into the distance.
