I’ll always remember Claremont pool for the nostalgic sausage rolls, ‘fad’ fake smoke lollies, big boi cigar lollies and pool mats floating all around the pools. It’s still a wonderful venue, perfect for individual lap swimming, kids swimming and diving and for birthday parties and much more. The weather today was a bit hit and miss to start but was perfect for what my friend had organised for her sons birthday here, complete with a blow up pool rocket kids and adults could temp their fate running along the slippery top of. The same little kiosks sits where it used to that sells sausage rolls and such :) They have updated facilities the pools are mostly heated and there is now a new little play ground near the kiddies area. Come some more good weather we will definitely be returning when they put on the next blow up pool event which we missed out on last time.

The claremont pool is an outdoor pool and a large grassed area to relax in the shade. In summer it is a great place to escape the heat and it is open until 8pm. There are BBQ facilities and a café. Very kid friendly with two kid pools. Eftpos accepted. Free parking. Bus stop out the front and walking distance from the Claremont train station. Over the 40 degree days we spent the evening cooling down, almost had the pool to ourselves.

This community pool is great for the whole family. Beat the heat by splashing around, diving or swimming in one of their lap pools. There is a 8 lane 50 metre and a 7 lane 25 metre outdoor pool, a dive pool, 3 diving boards, a toddler pool and a playground. You can bring in your own food and use their picnic or BBQ area, so your family won’t have to leave when the kids get hungry. The best part about the Claremont Pool is that this summer they are offering Dive In Movies. Every Saturday for the next 3 weeks they are putting up a movie screen(after hours at 8pm) to show kid friendly movies. You can either watch the movie on the grass or in the 25 metre pool. The next movie showing will be «Flushed Away» and while not yet confirmed, they think that they will also show Rio and Cars 2. If you have kids or you are young at heart, the Dive in Movies are a fun and interesting way to cool off.
