History

Established in 1868.

R. A. Watson, born 1839 in Limenburg County, Nova Scotia, arrived in New South Wales in 1860 and bought the Paragon Hotel, Circular Quay in 1868. His son Walter Halifax Watson, 1875 – 1971, was proprietor of the hotel c.1901−1923.

The establishment still remains in it’s original location, although has changed hands a few times through the 20th Century and is now part of the Ryans hotel group.
