Lawwwddd, these burgers are FINE! At $ 16 for the burger, fries, drink combo it’s definitely a ripper deal. Four of us and all four tapped out before polishing off our plates. FORSHAME! Definitely try the buttermilk fried chicken burger — it can do no wrong. Comes with red cabbage slaw, Chipotle aioli, cheese, and house pickles. Also try one of those weekly special burgers — We had a ‘The Fro’Marge Burger: Blue rinse bun, Double beef patties, Blue cheese, American cheese, Tomato ‘pearls’ relish, and Green lettuce skirt. Yeah. we just blue ourselves. The burger comes with gloves because blue everywhere. The beer battered chips are heavy and loaded and you just can’t help yourself but to eat more. Do yourself a favour and get down there. Some of the best chicken burgers in all the land.

Had a delicious lunch yesterday at Chicken & Sons on Victoria Ave in Chatswood. If only all chicken shops were like this I thought to myself. It occurred to me that there are hundreds of chicken shops in Sydney and the vast majority are of the dodgy KFC knockoff variety with plenty of grease, suspect poultry practices and penitentiary-style service. Enter Chicken & Sons — is this the future of chicken shops? I think it is. It’s still a place to go to get your basic cooked chicken with salad and/or chips but it is just at a much higher standard. Friendly and helpful staff, exemplary charcoal grilled free-range chicken and a superb range of salads and sides — polenta, zucchini, egg plant and something extraordinary with a cauliflower all beautifully displayed in gorgeous giant china platters. The décor reminded me of a London Pie and Eel shop with pristine white tiles and interesting chicken-related artwork. First rate.
