Warrigal road is actually home to lots of eateries and Maguro is located near the freeway entrance opposite Pancake Parlour. I have been making an effort to eat more locally and try different places(especially if they are not on Unilocal) to support local business. With a bright sign and inviting interior, Maguro has a small strip of parking in front and more parking on the side. The waiter was very friendly, giving just the 2 of us a large table and green tea straight away and the food was served pretty quickly. Devoured: Seared Waygu Beef Nigiri-2 pieces for $ 13, not worth it. Seared Kingfish Nigiri — worth it! Seared Salmon Nigiri — 2 pieces for $ 9, 2nd favourite. Rainbow Maki roll — good way to try different sashimi. Salmon Hand roll — had roe on top and salmon belly. Small Sashimi mixed plate — fresh. Overall the nigiri appeared on the small side and some of the seared nigiri were overdone for my liking. The Maki roll is filling and I enjoyed that however overall I would not go here often as the price tag for serving size and deliciousness didn’t add up for me.
