Frank and Ginger, is a great place to have a lazy brunch on the weekend. Situated away from the hustle and bustle of many of Balaclava’s great brunch spots. F&G’s has a large amount of outdoor tables and a few inside for those who are afraid of UV or recovering from a hangover and feeling a tad light sensitive. The staff are friendly and attentive and make you feel welcome and valued. Orders and food are taken and delivered promptly and the menu has all of your regular brunch favourites. A favourite of bike riders and lazy locals a like, give it a try you will like it!

I haven’t been here since they first opened about a year ago but thought a revisit was due. I think they have changed hands– looks like it’s run by a couple or family now compared to the young teenager boys that were operating it when it first opened. Much better now. The staff are friendly and helpful and the food is delicious and have large serving sizes. I ordered the avocado smash and think I got a whole avocado! Great seeing as sometimes you get like a ¼ of an avocado at some places. It came with 2 eggs which again was great as I thought it would only come with one. Winning. My fiend ordered the corn fritters which again was huge. Only reason I’m giving this 4 instead of 5 stars is because my poached eggs came out with hard yolks which I hate and I guess I should of asked for soft but I assumed it would be soft. Assuming did make a ass out of me!

Just had a great brunch meal — generous portions and delicious flavours. Frank and Ginger deserves a better rating, so 5 stars from me. Worth checking out.

This was my second visit, hoping that these guys would redeem themselves after my previous visit, I thought of giving them another try. But alas, still didn’t cut the mustard. Service was clunky and they needed reminding about forgetting my coffee, even though it was a quiet Monday morning. Just had that feel that the love has been sucked out of this place. Super cheap & nasty fit out(raw plywood everywhere), looks worse than a cheap cubby house, with no attention to detail at all. Yuck. The only thing I like is their Synesso and their location. Menus were tatty and text has been worn off the paper & barely legible. Such an easy thing to get right. I ordered poached eggs and avocado and a flat white. The coffee was undrinkable. The eggs seemed like they were twice poached & were vinigary. :(boo Won’t be returning anytime soon. X

Good service, I had the breakfast bagel with bacon which was very tasty. The breakfast salad also looked good. Coffee was tasty although took them a couple of tries to make a chai latte which was still rather weak on the second attempt: think«hot milk» rather than«spiced chai». Stars for service.
