seafoodhouse at capalaba need to focus more on there customer base than there profits because without customers you have no profits, you go there and look at the fresh fish and you can plainly see they have the same fillet in the display cabinet under two different names, last week i went there and bought some blue eye cod fillets and when i cooked them all this water came out of them and they ended up soggy on the plate and i have been there before an bought fish fillets only to get them home an they smell of ammonia or somthing like that, and tonight i bought some boned deep sea bream fillets and when i cooked them they smelt off and had blood lines through them like tailor. all this might be my imagination but either way i will not be going back again. i did complain to whom i thought was the owner once about the ammonia smell on the fish and she said they only spray there fish in tap water. you make your own mind up.

The long lines on Fridays and holidays will tell you how popular this place is. You just can’t buy a good seafood feast for peanuts and so we always spend a few dollars when we visit, but walk away with heaps of fresh seafood. The whole fish are the best buy and if you go outside of the really busy times(and not too late in the day), the satff will happily fillet yours for you. We’ve had oysters, scallops, fish, prawns and bugs from here, along with beer battered chips and crumbed calamari. It’s all good.

We all have our fish monger that we swear by, the one that always has the freshest seafood and the best prices. The one that you trust will never, ever give you food poisoning. Aussie Seafood House reeled me in with their wide range of products. On any given day, they have salmon, breams, tailors, rainbow trouts, shell fish(imported and caught locally) and Moreton bay bugs. They also sell sashimi grade tuna. This shop may be hard to find along Old Cleveland Road so hit the brakes when you spot the giant, plastic prawn out the front.
