I ordered the Gnocchi with a twist($ 24) and found the portion size to be surprisingly deceptive! I ended up not getting through the gnocchi and saving some for lunch the following day so I could have room for desert. I really enjoyed this summery taste on gnocchi. To follow up on the gnocchi I settled on a slice of the Mars bar cake and a hot chocolate to finish up the meal. The cake was delicious, a nice rich chocolate cake slice with Mars Bars melted between the cake and icing. I had not been to Nicholson’s for a few years but really liked the atmosphere at Nicholson’s and it was a good location to catch up for a few hours and enjoy a nice meal. I will have to return for sure as there were many delicious pub meals on the menu to try. Just a reminder to bring cash otherwise there is an ATM on site.

We dined here on monday last and it was an average experience to say the least. The food was meh and we had to sit outside in the cold to sit together but it was the rude attitude of the cashier that turned us off. Rude is an understatement! Don’t think we will rush back to this place…

This is our local bar & grill and it’s been pretty good to us over the years. The food is consistently good but the atmosphere is average. Meals are around $ 25-$ 30 and the portions are huge! Parmigiana and ribs are usually the favourites. The last time I went it was very disappointing, our Parmys were very thin and mostly cheese. The food standard has dropped and I’ve heard lots of people say they will not go back.

This family friendly restaurant is frequented on a regular basis for their humongous serves of mouthwatering chilli mussels! The Ribs ain’t too bad neither. Forget the décor, ignore everything but the food. only a stones throw from the suburban homes, this oddly located place gives you the feeling of not having left the home at all… So you enter through an odd entrance to be kindly and quickly greeted, seated and you order at the counter. Food is served to your table promptly. The whole experience of good grub and beer which doesn’t have to cost you an arm and a leg. Enjoyable always!

In the scale of pub food, Nicholson’s is really quite good. Their food is very reasonable priced(around $ 20-$ 35 per main) and the serving sizes are HUGE. The quality of the food itself is what you would expect to find at a pub, parmigiana’s, steak, grilled chicken, seafood platters etc and in recent months have tried to branch out a little for some healthier options which is great to see. I have been quite a few times and have never been disappointed with the food, as long as you go with the expectation of pub food and not gourmet dishes. There is no wait service, you are seated and given a menu, then you head up to the cashier to place your order and your food will be delivered to your table. Drinks are ordered from the bar and you take them back to your table yourself. All in all, the staff there are always friendly and cheerful, food is delivered quite promptly after it is ordered, and from my perspective — not a whole lot to complain about!

Nicholson’s Bar and Grill does good food at what is now a fairly average price(around $ 25 for a main meal). You also get very decent serving sizes(if having the lasagne, definitely go for the small over the large. No person alive could eat a large serve in one sitting). I went to Nicholson’s recently and was, as usual, happy with the food, but appalled by the outdoor seating. I don’t mean in terms of uncomfortable chairs or inadequate number of tables or anything like that — I mean, of all things, smell. A very strong, unpleasant odour was present during our entire meal, and a friend finally pinpointed it as being the grease trap in the kitchen. So my advice to anyone going to Nicholson’s? Don’t sit outside.
