This place, and the one upstairs(East of Everything) is my new favourite place. The staff are very friendly. The menu is extensive. If you want to take your friends to a nice relaxed place for a few interesting cocktails this is a great one. Entrance is non descript. Outside has very little signage. Go downstairs.

Tastiest cocktails! I skipped the massive menu and told them a few things I liked and they said they would whip something up for me. I was not disappointed! Great atmosphere here, fun loud little basement bar!

Dropped in on a cold and wet wintry Friday night. Great spot, friendly staff and great range of drinks. Ambient, good music and not loud. Good mix of people and we left wanting to stay longer but had other commitments. Will definitely be back for longer and settle in for the night.

Want a cocktail that tastes like a vacay? Princess Fiona is for you! Perhaps something more bitey and potent, Lychee Gorgeous then. Delish! When I go out,(which is few and far between with an 11 month old at home), I want a drink that I cannot make(or pour) myself. The menu is extensive and the drinks have 10 or more ingredients… delicious, delicious ingredients. The atmosphere is dark, swanky and cozy and the bartenders are happy to explain the drinks and give recommendations. This is a fave for beautiful cocktails and a nice evening out.

Like a moodily lit subterranean loungey bar that takes drinking seriously? Like flicking through a bible-sized drink menu or trusting well-educated staff to introduce you to something deliciously different? Like the ‘hidden’ charm of Melbourne laneway bars but can’t be shagged heading into town? Bar None is for you. Perfect for an after work wind-down drink or a late-night post-restaurant nightcap, it’s hard to hide your excitement that something this cool actually exists in this neck of the woods, where bars and(pokie free) pubs are hard if not impossible to find. The staff and service have always been great — schooled in gentlemanly ways, asking how your day is like an old-timey barkeep, and most have been in the booze biz a long time and seriously know their stuff: it’s a career not a weekend job for some of these guys. Was delighted last time I was in there to see they had started projecting black & white films onto a wall, a touch I loved especially as my drinks-date was running late. As with any cocktail bar, it can be quite dangerous when you emerge back to street-level with the bill, but if you’re price-sensitive or just in the mood for a more boisterous place after a drink or two then East of Everything is just up the stairs.

Very nice set up hear, down an alley off the ever-so-busy Burke Rd down a flight of stairs and into a trendy cocktail bar. It’s hidden away pretty well and I think that’s exactly what they were after. The menu can rival that of 1806 in the city so if cocktails are your cup of «tea» then get yourself hear and and find yourself a spot on a couch. They’ve got more cocktail options than I can count and a great sum that I’ve never even heard of before. Impressive to say the least. Nice place to just sit back, relax, chat, and enjoy the music.

I like this bar it has class. The space is cosy but with the right atmosphere. It kinda felt like I was in a friends lounge room. In a good way. The staff are friendly and knowledgable and passed my test. My test being these are the flavours I’m feeling like tonight can you match me to a cocktail? Answer was ‘a long kiss goodnight’. It was the right answer. The toasties were good too. I had the chicken toasties and staff where more than happy to swap the Swiss cheese for another cheese. It was a bit noisy at times but that just allowed my date the opportunity to get a bit closer. If your heading here on a Saturday night I’d highly recommend booking. Even if only for a drink. It was very popular.

Still THE place to canoodle in the corner with a saucy new love interest. I’d have given it 5 stars if it were not for the fact that the cash register leads to the female loo and not the exit. Something to remember if you’ve had one too many drinks.

Joint best bar in Camberwell /Hawthorn East by a country mile. Tucked away behind a nondescript door on Auburn Parade, you would be forgiven for not even noticing this hidden gem. Make sure however you track this and it’s sister bar East of Everything down, because you won’t find better in this suburb. Luckily if you find one you will find the other, because they share the same building, with Bar None occupying the basement and East taking up the upper level. This bar is dark, secluded and slick, with an enormous drinks menu consisting of an endless range of cocktails, spirits, wines and a few beers(East more than makes up for the lack of beer). You walk in to be greeted at the door by one of the very friendly bar staff. Straight away you are taken by the comfortable seating, relaxed décor and mood lighting, which puts you in relaxed mood and beckons you to sit down and have a few drinks. The music is always good with a range of relaxed 90’s indie, and they sometimes have images and film playing on the divider projector screen. I’ve been here quite a few times and it’s definitely my local. Think of a cocktail and it’s on the menu. They also serve a snacks menu as well. Bar None’s massive range of drinks, relaxed atmosphere and friendly service will keep me coming back time after time. Open Tuesdays to Saturdays from 5pm until late. Be sure to give this place a go.

Love this place! Walking through the non-discript entry tucked behind Bourke Rd, I wasn’t sure what to expect. We were greeted by some of the friendliest bar staff I have met in this crazy city, an awesome drinks ‘Bible’ that would take a week to read properly and an amazing atmosphere with fab music playing at just the right volume. Cocktails were ace((mostly $ 18-$ 24) and the generous portion of Turkish bread and dips lined the stomach quite nicely — and put what you get served at Borsch Vodka and Tears/After the Tears to shame. Wine menu had a nice selection and I have it on good authority that the range of beers is impressive. Can’t wait for my next visit!

Great hidden bar perfect for drinks with friends or a date. The location is underground and the mood lighting well done. Good service and they weren’t too angry when our rowdy group broke one of the lights!(Sorry)

Bar None is hidden away right opposite the Camberwell Station. As Camberwell is a dry zone, this is the closest bar to the station and within walking distance to car parks. If you didn’t know about Bar None, you most likely would not walk in because the sign is not very obvious and it is tucked right off of the main street behind a shop. Upon entering, you must take the stairs down to the basement and turn RIGHT. Do not end up in the mens toilets. Walking in you will be greeted by friendly staff who will seat you, both times I have come with parties of up to 10 just after 5pm on a Friday and have always gotten a very comfortable spot. There are sofas, benches and regular tables to sit at, there is an extensive drinks menu(little black book), a screen projection splitting the Bar up and helpful bartenders. The good thing about this place is that it is comfortable and there are drinks for everyone as the prices are suitable for all sorts of people. There is also a snack menu but I have yet to try anything from there as I head out to other Camberwell restaurants after a few drinks. Next time you are in Camberwell, give Bar None a go!

This was an old favourite of mine with an amazing beer list for a place so small… but then it burned down and all was lost. Now it’s back and better than ever with an improved court yard.

Bar None is a great cocktail bar in what is a very dry alcohol area. Hidden in a side-road off Burke Road it offers table service with an extensive cocktail, beer, wine and spirits menu(AKA The BarNone bible). The staff are friendly and knowledgeable and eager to help if you can’t decide from the extensive list of drinks! They also offer tapa style food(M&M’s served in a Martini glass anyone?) to accompany your drinking spirit :) The downstairs bar area is low-lit with couches all around, offering a relaxed space to enjoy drinks with friends or even a quiet drink for two. Most importantly the relaxed atmosphere means you’re not being blasted by loud music and can actually hold conversations without needing to yell at the top of your voice like a lot of other regular bars/pubs. The Bar was closed for about a year after a fire closed the building, but after attending their soft-opening last week I’m so so happy to say they’re back and my wallet will be handing over a lot more money to them in the coming months :)

This is a really cool little bar, tucked away from the busy Burke Street. It faces out onto the train tracks and inside is a really funky and comfortable space with ample couches, perfect for relaxing and catching up with friends. I first came here about 2 years ago and since then I’ve come back every now and then. It’s the best place around in Camberwell and Balwyn to get cocktails and while they may not be up to the standard of somewhere like Cookie or The Black Pearl — the are still pretty delicious. There is also a modest but decent wine menu complete with some great wines from Victoria and other parts of Australia. The bar staff are friendly and knowledgeable and willing to help you out with any tough decisions about cocktails or wine. Bar None is a relaxed and intimate space, a great place to unwind and catch up on conversation without loud and intrusive music or patrons.

This basement bar is an excellent reprieve from the typical Hawthorn lot, with a great wine list and excellent selection of vintage, boutique beers. The only issue with Bar None is the prices, which are often a little steep, however, as there is really nothing within a 2 km radius that comes anywhere close to being this trendy, there really isn’t too many patrons complaining. Located conveniently close to the Camberwell train station, Bar None really is a quaint experience, with cult movies running on a loop while the bar staff really do know their drinks, and how to mix them!
