Vela Dining & Bar

I love this place. Have eaten at the restaurant a number of times, including once when the computer system went down and the staff were killing themselves to ensure customers were served correctly. The food to really beautiful and matches the view, which is really spectacular. This is Sydney Harbour living at its best. The Bar is great for casual dining and the champagne and oysters are a favourite. Love the people. They really are friendly and take care of you.

What a disappointment. After being here recently on a voucher we decided to pay full price for a la carte. There was a problem with their bar as we asked for different spirits only to be told that they had «just sold out» We took advice and went for the «recommended «for our entrée and main meal. The fresh oysters were good but there was a problem with the main meal of ravioli before it even came out. One of the ravioli had sprung a leak but extra seafood topping was offered which was cool. However, the quality just wasn’t there for the price we were paying. While there were mussel shells there were no mussels found on some plates and there was broken shell in the sauce.
Maybe going on a voucher is the best way to experience this place as there is a smaller choice plus lower expectation.
