Foxtrot Charlie, cute name for a café and I’m sure there’s a great story behind it. It’s not easy to spot if you are driving past and Even walking past, I have only recently noticed the café. From Outside it looks quite subtle and spacious. Inside you can see a model plane hanging off the ceiling. Concrete wall and hardware type modern lighting around. There’s another space at the back of the café and it looks very interesting. It’s a light and bright café that is also low key and modern. I tried the spiced leek fritters –delicious but I would like more crunch. The broadbeans are delicious addition. The potato rosti — yummy yummy. However one slice of spicy Sicilian sausage only in this dish. Delicious but i expected more for the price. I look to the side, a lady had eggs with side of bacon and there’s lots of bacon!!! I don’t know how serving sizes are generally but our dishes were just missing something. Whether it’s bigger portion or flavour? I don’t know but we finished our meal feeling ‘I can still eat something else’ What I like is flavour combination, the dishes seem to have extra element that’s underused in other cafes — just not enough of it. I will visit again if in the area to try other items and review my review.

Eggs were great. We ordered one set to share, they kindly arranged our order in two different plates. Portions were huge for a hearty breakfast.

I started using the Skip app to order my drink. I said I was picking up at 10mins after the order. The take away iced coffee looks like a medium! Not sure if i want to pay $ 5 for a medium looking iced coffee.

Cute décor but I’m not happy with the coffee. Ordered the long black and it tasted bitter like cleaning fluid. The food was ok — ordered their pulled pork sandwich. Generous serving size. Gluten free options available. Good service. Not sure I’ll be back though after the bad coffee experience.

I love this place! This GF cheesecake with pistachio crust and rhubarb compote is making my afternoon. Delicious coffees and chilled comfy atmosphere, attentive service. Yum! Five stars!

Foxtrot Charlie is my favourite Brunswick Café and I cant think of enough excuses to keep coming back — maybe I need to move closer?! The staff are great and get to know the names of their regulars(and the names of their regulars children). The actual space is amazing — I want to live there! And the food and coffee is top notch! On my most recent visit I had the beef brisket open sandwich special. It was delicious and I overate just to make sure I could squeeze the last little bit in! On my last visit I had just been told of ‘the magic’ and contrary to what I had been warned I was not made to feel like a knob for ordering one — and it was actually pretty damn good!

Of course all my reviews are entirely subjective and down to personal preference. In saying, to stand out amongst the crowd in Sydney road you’ve gotta be something pretty good. I’ve dined at Foxtrot a number of times, and mostly it’s consistently busy. The foccacia’s are always worth the investment, and the menu ranging from dinner to lunch is excellence in it’s options. Brisket, pork belly, and the baked eggs are definite winners. The qaulity of coffee is also fantastic as one would come to expect when roasting and control is done on site. Foxtrot has made great use of the space inside considering the voluminousness interior of the café.

Absolutely love this place. The polished concrete, raw wooden tables & Tom Dixon lighting set the perfect mood for an exciting and unique menu. Order the St Joseph’s Day Fritter for the most drool worthy dish. Foxtrot Charlie have their own in-house coffee too … So creamy and smooth, it’s the best coffee on the Northside. The staff are always super friendly too, makes a pleasant change from many other establishments. Definitely a favourite, you won’t be disappointed!

Upmarket hipster would be a way of putting it :) design conscious setting with aesthetically pleasing dishes and staff . Had the most amazing breakfast special, healthy fresh and delish, coffee is good but could do with a bit more strength for my tastes ! Kid and group friendly, bright and airy. Thanks guys

This busy, spacious café is a little understaffed but the food is great. Our waitress took our coffee orders when we were seated, then our food orders when she delivered our coffee, then patently ignored us, even when i was trying to get her attention, for the 35 – 40 minutes we waited for our food. She was very nice but a terrible waitress. Also cafes, you’re busy, we get it– but if there’s going to be a long wait your customers will be a lot more forgiving if you let them know that straight up. GREAT coffee and really good food: my mushrooms and ricotta fritter on «pea fondue» was unlike anything I’ve had before. The fritter was almost bread-like with a hole in the middle, reminiscent of a South Indian vada. The fondue(purée) was divine and reminded me how underrated peas are! My friend had an amazing looking carnivore breakfast with honeyed bacon. There’s nothing standard on this menu. I wanted another coffee but eventually gave up trying to wave the waitress down.

Setting: Earthy tones coupled with bare materials make the mood comforting but stylish, there was a beeping noise made from what I assume was the forgotten coffee roaster it was quite interrupting, but all in all the modern setting was very pleasant. Food: Ordered a Coffee, Milkshake eggs on toast and beef sandwich — Drinks where not brought out together although ordered at the same time and there where only two of us, Milkshake was served in a traditional metal«milkshake cup» although was disappointingly only half full. Beef sandwich was toasted making the outside quite hot, yet the inside cool. Eggs where cooked to perfection and garnished with mixed herbs which was a nice touch. coffee although a bit dear at 3.80 was quite good — except for an odd nutty taste, to which we put down to the bio-dynamic milk used. Staff: Coffee was split on delivery — and one of the waitress’s had no interest in talking. Price: At around the 25 dollar mark the overall experience was pleasant but not amazing, will be interesting to see there growth in the already saturated Sydney road café scene, would go again.
