Ask for the expresso martini if you like coffee the marshmallow one wasn’t as good. I ordered the chicken kebab with rice and tabbouleh but swapped with my daughter for the chicken tangine which she wasn’t enjoying(due to how they served the chicken. Not in pieces) both tasted great and the calamari looked nice as well

I am a big fan of Mecca Bar and have been to both the Brisbane and Broadbeach locations and have been dining at the latter since its opening in 2010. Mecca Bar is a great restaurant to come with a group of friends as the nature of their menu leans more towards big shared plates plus they have an option for a Banquet which is around $ 45 for a table of four or more. My latest visit brought me in with two friends late on Monday evening, sadly there weren’t enough of us to share the banquet(which is epically large and delicious) so we ordered a bunch of meals to share between the three of us. First out we had the trio of dips(Labna, Hummus + Baba Gannouj), make sure to ask for this dish with Turkish Bread as that is an added extra– it is not automatically added on the side. As usual it was delicious! The dips are great both singularly and if you smother them altogether on the bread. Next up we ordered the Moroccan Potato Cakes and the Spicy Lamb and Pine Nut Boureks, each of these come with four pieces. The potato cakes were nice but I probably wouldn’t order them again as they lacked flavour however the boureks were absolutely delicious especially when mixed with the tzatziki-like sauce on the side. For our main dishes ordered both the Beef Tagine with Spices and Preserved Figs and the Spit Roasted Lamb Turkish Pizza. The meat in the tagine was ridiculously tender and melted in our mouths, the stew-like sauce it came with was perfectly flavoured and blended with the beef perfectly. The Lamb pizza is consistently good every time I come here and this visit was no different! My only wish would be that there was more of it! Aside from the excellent food, our waitresses were super friendly and extremely attentive plus helped us pick out some great meals from the extensive menu as we did um and ah a fair bit. Definitely a place to check out whilst in Broadbeach!

Really good looking restaurant on the inside and great location. The service was ok not great. It is now currently winter and I found it very cold inside, they had little to no heating which made it rather uncomfortable for me and my guests. The bathroom was across the street in another building and I thought it was inconvenient. The food looked good but taste was very average, and the pricing for food and drinks was way too high. They must have to raise the price because of the location to pay their rent. All in all not a very good restaurant experience and I was rather disappointed.

I was surprised to see this place have such a mix of reviews. I have been here twice now and both times I had a great time, Once with my partner and once with a large group of friends. Both occasions the food was great and met expectations. The turkish pizzas are pretty amazing. The service wasn’t fantastic but it wasn’t bad either, a happy medium. Décor is comfortable and a slight change to the other restaurants in the immediate area due to the Moroccan theme, they also have pull down clears for wind or rain too so no cancelling due to bad weather if you had booked and requested to be seated in the open outside area. Service: 3⁄5 Food: 4⁄5

Great location. Mediocre food. Flavours lacking. No real resemblance to the flavours which should be present in this type of food. Disappointed. The swordfish smelt fishy and was meant to be spicy but had no taste at all. The haloumi cheese was ruined by the sweet molasses. The sausages were dry. The house red wine was corked and tasted bad. The Melbourne Mecca Bah at Docklands is significantly better.

What a fantastic place to dine. After a thoroughly disappointing meal at the Melbourne Mecca Bah we had high hopes for this outing. We were blown away. Service was fantastic and all the staff were delightful. Then the food came out. Well I will just say this. A pizza and an entrée between 2 people would be plenty. We each had an entrée and main and they all came out at the perfect time. The food was fresh and delicious. Very authentic and we were seated in front of the kitchen so we saw our food be prepared. It was a perfect dinner and I would recommend this to anyone. 5 stars!

I’m not sure what the reviewer below was disappointed about. Honestly, I’ve been here several times and the food has never let me down. I’ve had each of the tagines, which are all delicious(especially the lamb meatballs with the lightly roasted eggs on top… amazing), as well as several of the turkish pizzas(try the spiced chicken with eggplant, rocket & tahini sauce for a flavour experience), and several of the mains(the vine leaf wrapped fish fillets… yum!), and would happily return again. And again. The interior is super funky, and the wine list is great. Recommended.

Disappointed. Great location, great looking menu and 5 star interior. But i came here for tHe food… Which is where it failed. Lacks the genuine taste that makes you hungry when you think of it, and then you get your plate and… Disappointment… I really wanted to like this place but I just can’t. It’s like this place wants to embrace modernity but sacrifices it’s roots. Maybe it’s early days and I hope this place only gets better because it has the foundation of a good restaurant.
