Cha Cha’s is a great spot to come for pre-drinks and dinner as it is entirely BYO with an inexpensive corkage fee. The food is relatively good but not incredible– it really depends on the day and how busy they are. A very popular spot with the younger, local crowd and you will definitely need a reservation on the weekends.

Went to Cha Cha Japanese Restaurant on the recommendation of my wife’s friend. She raved about the menu, the variety, flavours and cheap prices. Also, that generally it was packed so reservations were a «must.» So, with a party of four in the car we headed to Broadbeach to see what all the kerfuffle at Cha Cha was about. Well, we did get reservations, perhaps not the best table, but on a Saturday night it was full-tilt boogie and the bevvy of beauties dining there — all frocked-up for hitting the clubs afterwards — whet the appetite as well! With a vegetarian in tow, the Agedash tofu($ 6.80) was an easy choice, made with silken tofu and absolutely sensational as an entrée. In fact, all entrees were simply delish with the most expensive being the Pepper tataki beef at $ 12.80 for 100g. The mains chosen included Chicken katsu-don($ 12.80), Steak don with Miso sauce($ 19.80), Stir-fried vegetables with tofu($ 12.80), and Tempura($ 13.80). Most of the dishes came with rice and were as mouth-watering to look at as they were to eat. The service at Cha Cha is swift and don’t be surprised if the entrée and mains arrive at your table within minutes apart. In short, if you’re a fan of cheap eats and great Japanese, you’ll find it at Cha Cha. And if a bit of eye candy sounds like the perfect dessert to satisfy your sweettooth, you’ll get your fill on any Saturday night. Kampai!
