Just don’t get discouraged before you try the food alright?
To be honest with you, I did not feel like this could be a place I would enjoy. I mean, it’s a backpackers cheap bar with sticky floor, right? Great for a drunky night, but that’s it?
Ha, WRONG!
I mean, yes. There are sticky floors and it is a backpackers bar, but it actually stands out from the crowd.
But. There is also a steak for $ 15.90 and good choice of beer. And that steak, mind you, is delicious. I mean, really. Cooked to your liking, with sauce of your choice (mushroom sauce for the win. Also works with fries very well) and nice batch of fries. And salad. You can also change salad for another salad. I like coleslaw more than random green leaves, but you pick what you like, right?
They offer quite a big selection of burgers, for about $ 13 and they are filling and tasty. IF I remember correctly, there was also a deal for having $ 1 beer if you order a burger, but I’m not sure if that was only for some time or is it something you can count on any day.
We’ve also tried their pizzas (not too bad, but a bit oily to my tasting), short rib (YUM!) and I think once or twice they had something crazy like half a chicken which was also very good.
It does get busy, especially on the game nights, and obviously Fridays, so expect that even if you find a sit, you might have to wait a while to get your food. On normal nights getting food is very quick.
Staff there is usually friendly, once maybe we had a person who was a bit harsh, but to defend her, it was extremely busy and they looked understaffed. So you know. It’s kind of acceptable.
Since I got over my sticky tables fear, we’ve been there quite regularly. It’s cheap, it’s tasty, it’s quick, what else would you like? The clean tables? Well, they’re not as bad, as I’m telling, I’m just really picky.
I really recommend the place, as a stop on your drinking shenanigans and as a quick lunch/​dinner visit.

Best vegetarian burger!!! And such a great deal, only 14 with a pint of beer. Good music too

It’s simply hard to walk past a good old pub burger and beer meal deal. Almost every pub does one now and there’s a reason for that — it works, it brings in the customers. Of course regardless of what you do the trick is to do it (very) well.
The (regular) beer is hard to knock, it comes out of a keg and tastes the same everywhere (unless it’s flat). The burgers and chips get the reviews — The Rogue does a fine job of the food although not a great one. The burger was tasty although a little on the small side. This is a hard one because it depends on your meal size/​habits as a customer but I think they need to be able to satisfy an ‘average’ customer — and I think I’m average. The chips were tasty but again a few more would have been great. The presentation was nice — all food on a rustic wooden board. Their pizzas also looked good.
The Guilty Rogue is clearly very popular as it was packed and I struggled to find a chair and a bit of table. It’s all large share tables, open plan open windows, which also means it’s terribly noisy but the atmosphere was good, slightly hectic, but still enjoyable.

Great casual place with a good selection of beers. I ordered a burger that was HUGE and really tasty. A bit noisy but we could still converse without shouting. Only draw back was the two people standing outside smoking. With the open air format, we had to smell their smoke.

Yeah, this place does have a pretty cool name, and it also has the pleasure of being one of the few other places open for a drink near where I was staying that happened to be open past about 9:00 pm (which wasn’t a titty bar). Sure, there were some other places as well, but there weren’t all that many. Anyway, this is one of those bars that adjoins a backpackers hostel (which happens to be just above) and not only do they have some decent beers on offer, they also offer some quite affordable meals (though when I passed through here I had already eaten). Sure this place doesn’t stay open real late, even on a weekend (it usually closes around midnight) but at least if you are looking for a place to drink after the city begin to wind down you can generally find the place open (and the bar staff also keep their tops on).

The pub has $ 14 burger with chips and a beer this month. The beer was good but the burger was really average and small for a pub dinner. The chips were too oily and tastes blend.
The atmosphere was good, good music and friendly staff.

Adequate nouveau pub food. Laid back atmosphere. Feels like a backpackers’ that’s gone upmarket.

Great place, well located with nice views to an avenue full of people! They have big tables they get completely full even during the week!
Such a nice place to stay and have some beers with friends, because the environment makes you feel comfortable and in a good mood.
