There’s a reason this spot is quite popular. With a selection of salads, sandwiches, wraps, carved items and a bunch of other stuff, you should have no trouble finding something to eat. The value is absolutely amazing, by anyone’s standards because of the sheer quantity of food you get in a portion! My favourite combination is carved ham(its seriously delicious) with two types of salad. The Caesar salad is amazing and loaded with bacon bits, and the beetroot, pumpkin, and feta salad is quite filling on its own. They pack it in!

Not bad for a quick bite to eat during the work week. They have a large salad selection from Cesar, Greek, Pumpkin, Pasta and more! They also have different kinds of sandwiches with the option to make your own. I would come back for the salads and the outdoor seating.

I’ve been to Sparrow and Finch a couple of times for a CBD lunch fix, and each time it’s been OK. Not fabulous. Not terrible. Just OK. They’re a total hotspot for CBD lunch goers as they do great deals with things like mini pizzas, salads, pastas, wraps and sandwiches. It’s quick and easy, and there’s that key ingredient for any suit who is having a rough day… booze. There’s a bar around the corner from the service area selling beer on tap and other tasty liquid treats. From what I’ve heard Sparrow & Finch is really where it’s at after work, particularly on a Friday. Perhaps I would feel a little more enthusiastic about that place if I’d been for work drinks instead of always for lunch. In saying this, if you’re after a cheap and cheerful lunch than Sparrow & Finch is a great place to eat and meet up with friends.

How often can you be serenaded in the city by a flamenco guitar player as you unwind over post-work beverages? Well, every Thursday to be exact. As the sun sets and the officers flock to the Sparrow and Finch, an aura of heady anticipation transcends on the alleyway. Groups of co-workers mingle around bottles of beer, glasses of sangria and brightly coloured cocktails. The smartly dressed waitstaff materialise with plates of pizza and enormous burgers, immediately heightening the babble and laughter from the patrons. Always in the background is the gentle strum of the guitar, enticing passers-by to become part of the ambiance.

This is a great place for lunch but even better for after work drinks. There’s always a respectable crowd hanging around their service counter from 11 onwards. Hardly surprising as their well lit, spotlessly clean bar ladened with pre-made bagels and foccacias make healthy eating look appealing. There’s also decently priced burgers and pizzas for those wanting a heavier meal. If you can only do a take away lunch, make sure to come back for after work drinks. Their open plan seating is perfect for relaxing on a Friday evening. It gets pretty busy but fortunately their indoor-outdoor layout reduces the noise level. If you’re agoraphobic, the crowds usually die down after 7pm on a Friday night. NB: Lost of restaurants around Brisbane offer midweek deals and Sparrows is no different. Check out their $ 13 Pizzas on Tuesday nights and specials on their Sangria and Sav Blancs from 4:30 onwards.
