History
Established in 1998.
S.H.A.K.E. started in a small school hall in New Farm with 2 classes/week. At the time, the principal Nikki, was working in the IT industry but had danced all her life. After a while it became clear that teaching dance was her passion and S.H.A.K.E. evolved from there. There are now over 150 students with 5 senior teachers and many frequent guest teachers. Over the past 16 years students have completed almost 1000 exams. We now have students completing the highest levels of achievement in our syllabi. However, we like to keep true to our beginnings and perform at local school fetes and community events.

Business Owner
Nikki McIntyre is a Brisbane girl who studied Classical ballet with Shirley McMahon and Mary Heath and Jazz and Tap with Sandra Breen. Nikki’s mother Maxine was a professional dancer and choreographer (at the Theatre Royal and beyond) so dancing and performance has always been in Nikki’s blood. Nikki danced professionally with the Birds of Paradise ballet on the Gold Coast and performed in a number of pantomimes and professional shows from Surfers Paradise to over the NSW border. She recently (at over 40) performed in the Deana Peher show at Twin Towns. She now teaches another generation of children and endeavours to inspire them to love and cherish dance and performance!
