My husband and I were visiting Australia for our Honeymoon. We started in Sydney and traveled up north, staying at a few different spots along our way. One stop was Brisbane which we booked a 2 night stay at the Park Regis North Quay. I wouldn’t say I am the pickiest person but I was in no way impressed nor happy with this hotel. My husband and I could tell we weren’t too fond of the place within the first hour of being there. Online, it looks like a fairly decent place and in a good location. Yes, the location was nice because we did have a view of the Brisbane River. Other than that, I wanted nothing more than to switch hotels. When we checked in, they asked if we wanted to pre-pay for the brunch at the restaurant(If you pre-paid, you would only pay $ 19 instead of $ 24 per person). We were up for it, sounded like a good deal. Let me just say, the only edible from that brunch were the pre-packaged cereal boxes. The food was absolutely gross — not even the eggs were somewhat decent, they were practically an orange color and way over cooked. We cancelled our pre-paid breakfast for the next morning. As for the rooms, we got to the point where we went downstairs to ask if there was any way we could check out after one night but they would not allow it because we booked through expedia. It was funny the front desk man said that because we actually didn’t book through expedia, but . Which I’m sure it would be no for that too but it seems like he didn’t actually pull up our information to check if there was anything he could do. We had a king bed with a river view room. the bed is two twin beds pushed together, which I’m sure most hotels do, but this one wasn’t even made to be a king. there was a huge metal bar that stuck up right down the center of the bed. Lets just say, that was truly uncomfortable. The carpets were stained all over which gave the room a really dirty and unclean look. The toilet was not very clean, maybe half-assed wiped down. There was a used and gross razor left in our shower which means they obviously did not clean it before we checked in. Not to mention, the whole bathroom and room seemed very beaten up and not maintained. Yeah they put OK furniture in to it enhance the overall look but they need to take better care of their hotel rooms. Overall, the room was a disaster. They said we had free wifi and gave us a special code at our check in. We are from California so our phones were not working, therefore we had to use wifi to check email and such. The wifi was supposed to allow multiple devices logged in at the same time but whenever my husband would login in when the other one already was, it would kick out the other person from using it. Within 1 hour, the wifi shut off, said we were out of data and had to purchase more. When we called the front desk and asked for help, she gave us a new code. With the new code, again, kicked off the wifi under and hour. As we were heading out of the hotel, we stopped by the front the ask about the wifi again and she said that we used up all of our data and could only purchase more. So obviously the«Free Wifi» thing is a complete joke and lie. My biggest issue with the hotel was a hotel maid barging in our hotel room without knocking or ringing the doorbell first. Luckily we were dressed and just hanging out. I was baffled that they would not make sure the tenants weren’t inside before entering. What if I was naked? yikes. I was so glad that we had only planned on staying in Brisbane 2 nights and did not have to endure that hotel for 1 night longer. NEVERAGAIN!

Booked a 2 bedroom apartment and when we walked in the rooms were very dirty. Floors hadn’t been vacuumed or even swept because there were bits of food wrap on floor and crumbs. The main bathroom looked like there were certain bodily fluids smeared on the shower glass and window. Knives in kitchen still had food on them. Had to put something in the freezer and there was frozen blood all through it. Went to reception and they checked room while we waited and gave us an upgrade to the penthouse. We had absolutely no complaints about this apartment. Lovely views, comfortable beds and extremely clean. Person I was with had stayed here before and said they were completely happy with their room before, so I think it was just an unfortunate experience but they need to double check if rooms have been thoroughly cleaned. I’m giving it 4 stars because the lovely people at reception went out of their way to check the room and were extremely apologetic and the rest of our stay was great.
