These guys do some of the best coffee in Brisbane. The pizzas that they offer are also some of the best in the city.

I work in the Telstra building which means that come 4pm on Friday, the place to go is Firefly right on the ground floor. When the weather is good(i.e. not raining), Firefly is an awesome place to start the night. They have a full bar and a decent range of beers on tap. There is plenty of seating and the ambiance is quite chill. Occasionally, you’ll encounter a separate stand selling $ 5 bottles in the middle of the crowd. I’ve had Asahis and Coronas here and at $ 5 seems like a steal in Australia! The standard well drinks and wine is a bit pricey while the tap beers are about on par with other places in the city. They don’t have full pints so it’s schooners only. One of my friends has this Citi credit card where if she buys any food at Firefly, she can get a free bottle of wine along with the meal. Definitely worth a look if you think you’re gonna frequent this place!

My mate had his birthday @ Firefly and I have to say that it was a very good choice. Located on George Street in the city fairly close to the Queen Street Mall, Firefly is a great spot for grabbing a coffee during the day or having dinner and drinks at night. We went on a Friday night and it was naturally very busy, and quite early on actually at around 6pm. Firefly offers seating both inside and outside and heaps of open space between the tables outside and the restaurant/bar. They have a full bar which includes: wine, spirits, whiskey, rum and beer to cater for all needs/wants at fairly reasonable prices — a G&T will set you back $ 7.50 and an Asahi on Tap will cost the same amount. You’ll find a range of salads and pizzas on the menu. We went for the latter and ordered the margarita, peperoncino(tomato base w/mozzarella, leg ham, jalapenos, fresh chili & firefly’s own hot chili sauce) and the pollo(barbeque base w/mozzarella, char grilled chicken breast, mushroom and red onion). All 3 of them were delicious but heads up if you can’t handle spicy like me — STAYAWAY from the middle one! Overall, it was a great night and I will definitely head there for some pizza on my next trip to Brissie!
