Benefit Brow Bar

After spending just under a year coming here to have my brows tinted and shaped, my last visit turned out badly. The girl had short hair, and was someone I hadn’t seen before. She was unfriendly and unconcerned with what I was after. My eyebrows naturally grow not in the same shape so care is needed, after first completing my left brow she proceed to my right without paying attention to the shape. She trimmed the left and not the right. All this was something I didn’t to closely notice when she had finished as I often end up bright red from the wax and makes it harder to notice they are not even.
The next day while getting ready for work is when I noticed it most, since I work in the city I went back their after work. Once I explained this to another lady their I was told that she could not help as she wasn’t a brow expert, but there was nothing that could be down for me since they were freshly waxed. There was plenty that could have been done, they could have appologised, they could have refunded my money (who wants to pay $ 45 to have uneven eyebrows), they could have provided me with a free service to have them fixed…
I am extremely disappointed after recommending this place to friends I now won’t be going back and will find somewhere else in the city to have my eyebrows tinted and waxed.

I just had my eyebrows waxed today and overall, I am pleased with the outcome. I walked into Myers on a Sunday afternoon, no appointment or anything, and they sat me down right away. I was there for maybe fiftenn minutes max, probably less.
On the plus side:
The girl asked me first if I was happy with the shape of my brows. She listened when I said I wanted more of an arch but I was also trying to grow them out (Last place I went to did them too thin, unfortunately). She waxed and plucked them into shape, but also made sure to not do them too thin and not to wax where they needed to grow thicker. Good work and only $ 27.
She did not try and push anything on me, either, which I appreciated. She simply asked at the end, «Is there anything else I can help you with?».
On the other hand:
Now that I am at home and knit-​picking, I think they are not quite even. Pretty damn close but one is ever so slightly more arched than the other. In saying that, I don’t think anyone else is going to notice but it is something I will keep an eye on.

Good experience. I will definitely be back.

I have just recently visited this lovely counter in The Myer Centre Brisbane… having just opened recently… the lady who waxed my brow and tinted it for $ 35 told me the whole story. The lady who owned this San Francisco brand had a beauty shop selling cosmetics of various brands when one day an exotic dancer comes in and asks if there was anything she had for enhancing the colour of her (nipples) female parts. The lady who owned this store told her no, but to come back the next day. Home she went, picking rose petals from her very own garden, boiling them up and then pouring the perfumed and tinted water into a little bottle labelling it her own lable (soon to be Benefit) and gave it to the dancer the next day.
Wow, all the exotic dancers loved the product and off the brand launched. Not to follow the market trend, but to fill a gap for things people specifically needed in the cosmetic industry. The Brow Bar has only opened in Brisbane recently but I can see why they are the best. I didn’t have to wait (but make an appointment just to be safe) and the lady who did my brows did them perfectly… I have never been happier. She waxed (and the wax is some special gold double pearled wax which doesn’t feel hot on your skin at all) and sculpted and plucked and combed and tinted my brows and they are very much happier for it. Unilocal was what I said. How the Unilocal did she manage to work this magic on my scarse and ugly wayward brow hairs? I ended up buying a Brow Go Go kit with brow wax, complete with brushes and tweezers for $ 68. Sold.
Definetely worth a try, it takes all of 15 – 20 minutes and your brows will never look so great. Can’t recommend them enough.
