I visited this Aesop store a year ago as it had been recommended to me from a friend that they had good products. I was not disappointed.
The atmosphere of the store was welcoming, and the staff were very friendly. They allowed me to try several products and were able to make recommendations as to which items that would be most useful to me. I was very impressed with the quality of the products that I received, and the employees that served me had very good knowledge of what was in their store, and how they should be used.
Since visiting, I have purchased a number of items from their online store as I travel a lot and am not always in cities where they have stockists. After a few minor problems, I contacted their HQ and the customer service has been fantastic. They have replaced items with ease.
Would 100% recommend.

I’ve heard and been told stories about Aesop, but never had a chance to check it on my own.
Well this time I’ve been running out of my face cleanser, and the store was right on my path home from a hairdresser anyways. So I figured I should go and see what’s all that fuzz about.
(another sniff. Don’t mind me. I can’t stop!)
The store itself has an amazing design, there is huge counter in the middle and a lot of space around to wander.
I walked in and a lovely lady came to greet me and offer her help. I loved that, when it comes to face products I’m like a blind. I need a good advice to get something for my weird skin!
I told her what I’m looking for, she asked few questions about my skin type, and then we started. What, you ask? We started TESTING. She showed me all the products and applied it on my hands (yes, they have sinks there to do that!). She also explained what’s what and what’s it made from and how to use it.
The products itself are as much natural as they can be, they SMELL AMAZING (if you haven’t get that from my hand sniffing) and they also feel amazing when applied to your skin!
The lady gave me few options to choose from, and she wasn’t pushy at all with all the ‘once you’re here, you HAVE TO buy everything at once!’ approach as it is in many stores with cosmetics.
I picked few, and while yes, it isn’t the cheapest store in the city — I honestly have been paying almost twice as much for my previous face products.
I also got few samples — as I mentioned there was no push to buy everything there is in the store at once, so the consultant I’ve been talking to gave me few freebies to have a try and see if I like any of them for some other time (if ever).
Have I mentioned how amazing all the products smell???
Once we gathered all the stuff and freebies I decided to get, I’ve been walked to the counter and I’ve got an account created — they write down everything you bought, including the freebies, so if you come next time and can’t remember what was that awesome thing you tried, they can check it for you and you’re sorted just like that!
I paid, and got all my product packed in a beautiful fabric bag that has been sprayed with something with an amazing (yes, go ahead, guess) SMELL.
So here I am. Happy with my new product packed in an awesome bag. I’m expecting to grab it and get the hell out. What happens? The store consultant is WALKING ME to the door! I honestly had a moment of ‘what the heck just happened?’ Why is everybody nice to me and smiles constantly? :)) After my seconds of what the heck, we walk to the door, the lady passes me the bag and we say goodbyes.
This is a kind of the store, where you feel like you’re the most important person in the world (or at least in Brisbane). This is the store, where you go if you want to be treated like a queen/​king.
And yes, I am yet to try the product, but I have big hopes for it, and I am pretty sure I will be a regular visitor!

Time after time I’ve found myself venturing into this Australian stored to pick up either a little something for a friend or go all out on one of their packs for my Mum every Christmas.
The price point is affordable but you’re also getting a great quality product that will be sure to impress.

Hello, my name is Lani and I am a packaging design addict. I am shamefully a marketers dream, for if your packaging design appeals to my aesthetics, chances are I’ll lust after it and in the best case scenario for you marketers, I’ll buy your product. Of course, this is often fraught with danger for judging a book purely by its cover can lead to a disappointing discovery that well-​design packaging doesn’t always mean well developed products.
Thankfully, Aesop is one book cover you can judge for its minimalist packaging design and rest easy knowing it will look wonderful in your bathroom cabinet and the product within is just as minimalist and effective.
Aesop’s skincare (I have a thing for their Geranium Leaf range) is simple, effective and by comparison to other skincare brands, affordable. Their yearly gift pack range is one gift pack you’re just as likely to buy for yourself as a loved one. Last year it was Japanese inspired with names like Tokyo and Kyoto, this year they’ve put a bird on it and gone for an aviary toned theme. If you’re unsure about the products (hey I get it, as someone with sensitive skin you can never be too careful!), these are the best way to sample a particular range. They’re also super handy for travelling.
I’ve been using the Breathless body oil and its scent is truly heaven sent. It is versatile to use as a body moisturiser or as a massage oil. For dry skin I also adore their Camellia Nut facial moisturiser.
At the very least, venture in store. Their store fit-​outs are always unique and something of a feast for the eyes.

They use organic, plant based ingredients whenever they can.
They are Australian.
They are romantic with their ideals and quote selections (on their packaging)
They hire local designers to fit out each of their stores.
They have impeccable, minimalist packaging.
The staff are so lovely.
The products are excellent.
It’s kind of expensive.
It’s totes worth it.
I use very little else.

I really love Aesop products, but they aren’t cheap that’s for sure. The Resurrection Aromatique Hand Wash is absolutely divine and leaves your hands smelling great. However at $ 39.90 for 500ml, I feel awfully guilty splurging on this when hand soaps usually costs under $ 5.
They also have a great range of gift packs, so I always ask for Aesop for birthdays and Christmas.

When I entered Aesop and was greeted by a staffer who wafted over to me wearing something fabulous and asymetric, I was taken by surprise. In a good way. Why? Because she looked like the type of super stylista you’d expect to be a Mean Girl-​esque beeatch, but in fact she was as divine as her appearance. She left me to browse, but as soon as I glanced in her direction she was by my side, quicker than you could say «I want J-Lo’s skin».
This shop is minimalist chic at its best — think a ginormous ebony-​coloured table almost the length of the store, which is interspersed with stark white basins, and towering rows of artistically arranged Aesop bottles.
And, even though it was clear I wasn’t going to buy anything (the prices mean that it’s a «look and think about it» shopping experience rather than a spontaneous splurge type of place), the lovely staffer sent me off with a handful of samples. Service with a freebie — I like!
(For your info, I like a really heavy moisturiser for dehydrated skin — and am loving the samples of Perfect Facial Hydrating Cream and Damascan Rose Facial Treatment oil. I’ve got a feeling I’ll be forking out…)

Whether you pronounce it ‘Esop’ (you stickler for phonetics) or ‘Asop’ (which is the way its spelt), one thing which is universally agreed is the quality of their products.
Developed and marketed in Melbourne, the elegant, minimalist store on Adelaide St is the first in Brisbane. It reminds me of a dark arts laboratory with its amber, pharmaceutical bottles lining the floor and the black tiles along the wall.
I’d received some Aesop parsley seed samples after they sponsored the Pecha Kulcha conference at the Powerhouse in October and had been looking for an excuse to visit the shop in town. I finally managed to go while Christmas shopping for some family friends in Hong Kong. I always try and buy Australian products as gifts for overseas friends and family and I had long worn out stuffed koalas, macadamia nuts and ugg boots. Being Australian made and owned, Aesop is a perfect gift idea for international family and friends.
$ 150 later and I had purchased several mixed gift bags containing body moisturisers which smelled like sandalwood, potent serums, facial toners and scrubs. My hands were exfoliated, cleaned and emulsified from the liberal amount of samples that had been applied.
In terms of cosmeceuticals, Aesop is on the expensive side but all girls know the value of an occasional indulgence.

I am prone like any mere mortal to breakouts and general skin yuk-​ness,
Thankfully Aesop is to the rescue.
Aesop use the finest plant based ingredients and anti-​oxidants to create quality products for your skin.
Their flagship store on Adelaide street is bare bones and beautiful,
the famous brown bottles stand crowded on a long wooden bench
and the effect is quite striking.
The staff are friendly and really know what they are doing,
they are thankfully not stingy with free samples
and I get to go home and test out some of their range.
I am particularly taken with Tea Tree leaf exfoliant
The products smell wonderful and go on like a treat.
While it is a bit too pricy for me ($ 40 for a 40g jar)
I plan to save up some pennies and invest in a bottle.
