Tokyo Jazz Cafe

This place has the kind of atmosphere you get when the people running the show really care about you and your enjoyment of their food, service and music.
I also find the prices reasonable and love having good Japanese beer on tap.
Only discovered TJC earlier this year and now go pretty regularly.
I recommend them and hope they are successful, would hate to lose them!

Bondi Junction may be a shopping and food hub during the day but it is yet to prove itself a worthy location for late night shenanigans, especially ones which involved live music. I guess it’s all about knowing where to go, that’s why you have us!
On a weekday Spring Street is just another street lined with offices and cafes you can run to on your lunch break, but hidden amongst all this is a little restaurant that comes to life when the sun goes down. Tokyo Jazz Café isn’t a place that cooks with ingredients fetched from your local grocer and it sure doesn’t create ambience by playing tacky top forty hits from an old radio.
This place is authentic, it is run by a Japanese couple that are proud of their traditional cuisine and want to share it with the foodies of Sydney. The food is fresh and they import many things straight from the markets in Japan.
Since Australia began appreciating Japanese food, it has become a bit of a delicacy and is often expensive. But Japanese food is yummy, and it shouldn’t be a splurge meal, it should be readily available for our taste buds to enjoy! Tokyo Jazz Club understands that, and their prices are as friendly as their service.
Enjoy a heart meal and still have money left over for some of their tasty drinks. I recommend you ask about their house white wine, the owner helps make it himself and it’s great to see a smile on their face once you take that first sip and your eyes show how much you enjoy it.
Let’s not forget about the live jazz bands they house. The music is free if you’ve had a meal or a few drinks, but that’s the best way to enjoy it anyway.
It’s a quaint place with a great atmosphere, a true hide gem of the Bondi Junction nightlife.
It’s best to book ahead when a gig is on, it’s a small place and can get very full. Also, they have cooking classes every now and then on how to cook healthy Japanese food so definitely check that out if you’re keen to get that Japanese taste at home.
