If you’ve ever moved from one city to another, you know one of the difficulties is leaving doctors that you have a history with, a relationship with and also have a certain level of comfort and confidence in. So here I am living in a new city in a new country and needing a specialist! After doing my own homework to find a retina specialist with high experience in treatment of macular diseases, I found Dr. Timothy Nolan. Having had excellent experiences in south Florida, USA with specialists, I was concerned about the possibility of needing another procedure while living in Sydney and more importantly, finding a retina specialist with lots and lots of experience under their belt. My concerns were lightened considerably upon meeting Dr. Nolan 3 days ago. His office is located near Bondi Junction’s Westfield Mall where there is easy access to his office with more than adequate parking nearby. When I called the office to make my appointment, I spoke to Cassandra. She was easy to talk to, warm and friendly and very knowledgeable .I had questions that she answered clearly and really knew what she was talking about! I found Dr. Nolan to be very thorough and very friendly. The office is small, a bit cramped where the scanning machine is located, with a bright and comfortable waiting area. The staff are all friendly and smiling. I needed to remove my contact lenses during the examination. They had to give me a type of ‘specimen’ container for my lenses as they did not have any regular contact cases in the office. I don’t really know if they were just out of lens cases or if this is their norm. I would suggest bringing your own contact lens case. If you are in need of a retina specialist with a focus on diseases of the macula, Dr. Timothy Nolan is ‘the man’. I highly recommend him.
