So I’ve been here for lunch 3 times now. First time wasn’t very busy & my party of 4 scored a table on the balcony very quickly. The past 2 times however the place was mobbed & we felt like sharks in the water circling for a table. It would be very nice if they had a better system for assigning tables. Aka, waiting list. Anyhoo onto the food. First time ordered a salad & order of calamari. Salad was underdressed but I guess I prefer that to overdressed. Calamari a little chewy & not very exciting. At least it was better than their shumai that my friend ordered. Way too big & gummy. Should have been half the size. Next visit with my waking mate we ordered wings & potato wedges with sour cream & chili dipping sauce to share. These were both on point. Crispy, not greasy wings. Lovely taters. Last visit best meal of all the prawn linguini. Would order again in a heartbeat but needs to be served with a piece of toast. Hope one day they will work out the seating arrangement a little better but I’ll keep giving them a try.

We brought some international visitors here for a weekday lunch. Several cocktails to start, although very slow service, and then a nice table. The slow service was today’s theme unfortunately– not sure why because it didn’t seem to be that busy. The food was wonderful without being outstanding– we all enjoyed all our meals although my swordfish was a little underwhelming but the ribeye looked truly magnificent. We managed to quaff a lot of plonk which made the terrible service passable — just. I’d go again — perhaps dinner has a better level of service. The views forgive a lot but really for the price I would expect more attentive service. Worth a look.

I had been looking for a nice place to eat with a view in Sydney and its surrounding areas and this was the perfect place. You definitely want to make reservations for the restaurant in advance because when we went the place was full. Thankfully there was a side bar area with small tables and seats and a wonderful view of the beach and ocean. Unfortunately they only had 2 beers on tap so I went with a mimosa instead. We ordered the polenta fries and the seafood crochettes(they had a different name on the menu that I cannot remember). The polenta fries are really filling and there are a lot of them so make sure you have large appetites or more than 2 people in your group when you order it. The seafood crochettes came in a pair with a sauce and were a good size. Our server was very friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for good food and drink with a spectacular view. Pricey but you get the view!

This place needs a major update… it wants to be modern but you can tell it has aged a bit. This place a huge potential, as the food isnt that bad, the atmosphere screams high class and the views… breathtaking… but in the end it doesnt quite make it… The service is pretty horrible and slow. The waiters are quite snobby and probably will continue to be that way unless they know for sure you are quite«well off». Although the service was bad the food on the other hand is quite acceptable for the price. I would not recommend this place until it gets its act together… but then again I came on a vacation and most likely will not be back anytime soon.

My husband and I decided to splurge on our vacation and enjoy an intimate, romantic dinner at Icebergs. The setting is hard to beat — the views are incredible and the dining room feels romantic. I almost wish we went for lunch instead so we could actually enjoy the bright blues of the ocean(still beautiful at night though). This place was definitely a stretch for us, both in price and palette. And we were certainly underdressed(I may have been wearing Converse…). But we shared an exquisite pasta dish and enjoyed our service immensely.

I haven’t written a review in a very long time but I ate here on Sunday night and I just have to review this restaurant in excitement It was amazing. I went here with a friend from overseas and it was an amazing night! Very classy and elegant. The atmosphere was perfect. If you go outside on the terrace, you can see an amazing view of bondi beach! It was quite windy and the amazing views of the crashing waves was beautiful! Service was amazing. This amazing English woman had taken care of us very well. Very bubbly personality. However, if I was to go to this type of restaurant, I would expect this type of service, so it was great! Ok, sooooo, the food was amazing! My friend and I started off with the most refreshing oysters and the burrata con bresaola! Omg!!! Holy hell that cheese was beautiful!!! The bay leaf oil and the lemon and croutons was such a good mixture of flavour and texture that made the cheese über aweeeesome! For mains I had the gnocchi and lamb, and as a big fan of both carbs and lamb this was the perfect find! The lamb was so tender! Unfortunately, to finish the dishI had to reduce my intake on entrees and their perfect wine which was I was not going to do!(yes everything has to be accompanied by large servings of alcohol… That’s what makes this world a better place) If you dine here, just remember to go outside! The view, the waves, are just divine! Happy Unilocaling Unilocalers!!!

Recently came here for my Birthday Lunch, booking of 12! Beautiful location, views exquisite! Food– had mixed reviews from my table I personally had a delicious meal(steak special of the day) My poor star rating reflects on the staff! There was a brunette female who worked on the bar who was SO pretentious & rude to my entire group which left me feeling terribly embarrassed, my group willing to spend big $$$ on the bar ended up going downstairs to the bistro/bar for cocktails, it is very sad that such an establishment could hire such staff to bring down a beautiful venue with such potential!

A couple of the dishes were well done, but that was undermined by several things done badly. Stale olive oil. Slow service(only one decent server in the lot). Steaks overcooked, pea salad was bad enough so we left most of it. Dessert was wrong: for example sorbet served as panna cotta. How are they getting away with it? Probably because it’s a tourist trap, attracting people based on the location. Most of the staff seemed actively disinterested. We won’t be back, and would recommend against it.

We went to Icebergs with high expectations, based on input from friends from Sydney and some guide reviews. To be fair, the view was great, the food was good, the wine was fine(but overpriced) and the service was disappointing, at best. To our waiter, Sebastian, you should have some clues about the menu. For starters, you should know if the Barramundi is a dark or white fish. The beer ordered when we first sat down shouldn’t arrive after all the appetitizers have been served and consumed. We shouldn’t have to wait 10 minutes for wine glasses to be filled at a restaurant at this pricepoint. You shouldn’t ignore our party while virtually crawling up the pants of the table next to us after they complained of the«fraternity atmosphere» of the bar, only to loudly behave like a group of foul-mouthed 14 year old boys for the whole evening with no accommodation or apology from you or the management. If you’re going to continue to work as a waiter, pay attention and take pride in your chosen vocation. To paraphrase Samuel Jackson, I don’t need your attitude, I have one of my own. For these prices(700AUD for party of 4), the service at least needs to approach the food and view. If you want wonderful, fresh, inventive food & professional service, I’d recommend Pinbone or Chiswick.

Fabulous view! Excellent service but definitely not quick if that’s what you’re looking for. Barramundi was excellent, as was the chicken. Polenta chips are tasty but order some marinara on the side as they only come with sour cream. Dessert can be skipped due to price and taste. Drinks are all yummy, can’t go wrong. Be ready for a big bill!

We were initially hesitant to squat here fearing it was a tourist trap but it’s certainly not a place to miss if you are on Bondi Beach. The views of Bondi are incredible and the food is top notch. We had the caramelized tuna, pistachio crusted king prawns, and the kale ricotta salad which were all delicious. Perfect spot to rest and replenish after finishing the coastal walk.

This place was the best location to eat in bondi beach! We had a table inside overlooking the ocean… with a nice gentle sea breeze coming in through the open sliding window! Service was ok… not amazing! Food was nice… small and expensive… But it is an experience and beautiful for my husband and i to enjoy a romantic evening together! The manhattan cocktail(bullet rye) and glass of shiraz from McLaren Vale was delicious! We ate the zucchini flowers which were nice but could have a little more flavor. The burrata dish was light and lovely but expensive for the small servings of fruit you get on the plate… could use a little more balsamic drizzle for flavor. The fish fillet was nice with a side of kale but the kale needs the stems removed and more garlic! I would recommend it to people for a unique bondi experience but be mindful it is very expensive — a little ridiculous with a $ 30 desert haha! enjoy Sarah, San Francisco

Pretentious??? Really? I think some people here may be suffering from a little insecurity. While this place may not be your regular local café hang out, my party and I were made to feel welcome right from the start and had an amazing evening. The service initially was a little slow but once our drinks came out the flow of the evening was efficient and professional. I enjoyed some fabulous wine by the glass, shared a couple of antipasto dishes of prawn and crab and enjoyed my medium rear steak that cut like butter. Several others tried and raved about the homemade pasta dishes including a soft shell crab spaghetti which certainly looked colourful. We finished the night with dessert which included a rich gold leaf deconstructed chocolate cake and an amazing vanilla tart with grappa soaked raspberries. I haven’t even mentioned the view yet have I? It was kind of a big deal. And the sound of waves crashing against the seaside swimming complex beneath certainly gave this place a pleasant feel.

Fantastic view, modern but slightly too«cool» décor. Looks like the kind of place models and almost-celebs would hang out in. Service was prompt and wine list was overpriced but good. I had the lamb. It was not very nice — too much fat, oil and stringy tissue, and very little juicy meat. Stick to the seafood. Looks like they do that well.

If you come up here, you have to expect a certain level of pretention, especially in the swish part of the restaurant. That said, the hostess and the waiter were rather nice to me. My friends were running super late and, once they arrived, I noticed they weren’t quite rude to them, but they weren’t as nice and attentive as they were to me. I don’t know why. Maybe just tired? Who knows. Anyway, drinks sat made on the bar for awhile at one stage, and it wasn’t even remotely busy. I’m not sure what happened, started out great, but my friends thought the service was awful. Like I said, they were cool with me! The bar food was ho hum. The polenta chips are a winner, everything else is small, overpriced and mediocre. Killer views. This is definitely somewhere to come with out-of-towners during the day or when there is a beautiful sunset and oooooh and ahhhhhh over the magnificent views of Bondi. Unbeatable for that. Apparently downstairs they have a more casual pub type of place if the fancy cocktails and expensive dining isn’t your style.

Unfortunately, we didn’t make it past the hostess. When we arrived for a late lunch on a weekday, we asked for a table for two. The hostess responded with, «maybe you’d like to have a look at the menu first.» We did, noticing that prices for mains start around $ 40 or so and go up to $ 80. Because we were on vacation and had heard that the view at Icebergs is fantastic, we then said«looks great!» The hostess then responded with, «did you know there’s another restaurant downstairs? It’s more like a pub with bar food and you order at the bar. We do table service up here.» Both of us were dressed appropriately for a nice lunch. Neither the very fancy, downtown salon we went to earlier that day, or the designer handbag store we stopped by on the way to Bondi had any problem at all taking our money. I guess the hostess just assumed that someone about her age couldn’t possibly have enough class or money to dine there. On the plus side: We actually really enjoyed the«pub» downstairs. Same great view without all the attitude. The menu ranges from burgers(around $ 20) to filet mingon(around $ 40). I’d easily give the this place 4 stars.

Spectacular views, décor and service. This restaurant definitely belongs on any list of places to take visitors when you’re trying to show off how beautiful Sydney is. Go during the day for maximum wow factor. Here is what we ate and drank: === COCKTAILS No 18 Flirtini Raspberry fruit purée, Belvedere Pure Vodka, pineapple juice, vanilla gomme, finished with Australian sparkling wine No 72 Iceberg Sunset Belvedere Pure Vodka, Cointreau, Aperol, fresh ruby grapefruit juice, blended with lemon sorbet ENTREES Queensland spanner crab, ‘Venetian style’ soft polenta, fresh sorrel, chilli, garlic, lemon Black truffle, Taleggio cheese and chive frittata MAINS Market fish of the day(flathead) served with sorrel, parsley and roasted tomato passata Char-grilled Black Angus rib eye 400g, bone removed, served with a selection of mustards and ‘Salsa Erbe’(Italian herbs, chilli, garlic, virgin olive oil) SIDEDISH Broccolini with garlic and chilli DESSERT Flourless soft-centred chocolate pudding, honeycomb & raspberry ice cream, chocolate-coated honeycomb === Both cocktails were excellent. I liked the Flirtini the best. The spanner crab entrée was outstanding: very fresh and lemony. The truffle frittata was delicious but I could only eat one piece of it as it was very rich. The flathead was disappointing. It tasted dry and overcooked. I regretted not ordering the salmon instead.(I was given a choice between about ten different kinds of ‘fish of the day’ and I picked flathead because the waiter told me it was his favourite.) The accompaniments to the fish — sorrel, parsley and roasted tomato passata — were very nice. The steak was divine. It was tender, juicy and flavoursome and it went perfectly with the truffle mustard and Salsa Erbe. Side dish(broccolini) was good. Dessert smelled amazing — I love that baked chocolatey aroma of freshly made chocolate cake — and it tasted amazing too. The fondant centre was perfect and the choc-honeycomb pieces were an excellent accompaniment to the pudding. All in all, an exceptional dining experience. Value was below average($ 250 for all of the above), but this restaurant is situated on prime real estate and you obviously pay a premium for some of the prettiest water views in Sydney.

Talk about pretentious… the hostess is snooty as hell and will give you attitude the minute you walk in but disregard, disregard, disregard, you will have already booked a table in advance and she’s only in view for a nano second anyway. The interior is like the inside of a Tiffany’s box, that robin’s egg blue that screams $$$ probably due to the association with the jewelry store. Oh and all the rich locals dining with family and drinking champagne at noon.(Just sayin’) Enjoy a glass of the Cloudy Bay sparkling while you wait to be seated, right by the floor to ceiling windows if you’re lucky(which we were this time around yay!) and you will be greeted with the breathtaking view that is Bondi Beach and the turquoise ocean that changes to a tumultuous blue/gray when the clouds hide the sun. The view alone is worth it, the surfers an added bonus and it also helps that the food is light and fresh and really quite tasty. I recommend the fish of the day — today it was snapper, whole snapper grilled to moist, flaky perfection. It came with a little side salad of random greens and a hint of mint which brought the whole dish together quite well. The rest of the food was forgettable. Decent oysters, decent mussels, decent gnocchi. Skip the entrees and go straight for the main… although I hear the shrimp is quite good? The gentleman sitting at the table next to us was really going at it with his ribeye but you’re by the water, I suggest the seafood, I really do. A must go for locals and tourists alike. Just remember to dress smart and book in advance.

What a fun way to dine. Contemporary building against beautiful Bondi beach, dining by the window looking at the ocean waves crash against the adjacent pool, and spill into the pool. The dining experience is also respectable and made for a good memory of my first trip to Australia. I recall liking their fun furniture in the lobby and walking around the decks prior to being seated. The place was fun… I’m just reading the other reviews talking about the wealthy clientele that is attracted here. I must have been there at an odd hour because it was not busy, and it felt kind of like Newport Beach. Very beach chic, not too over the top. Would love to make another trip out there.
