This place is amazing. I love their food from their subway style pick your own sandwiches to their ready made hot foods. I went here daily when I worked near here because the cost is reasonable & the food is the right size for a big lunch. Their outdoor seating made my summer & their drink selection isn’t just Pepsi & Coke.

Trip to Memory Lane. I came to try the Dutch food and left happy and satisfied. These guys deliver big time. Very impressed; it tastes like I remember it. Besides classic snacks such as the kroket, sausijzenbroodje, and bitterbal, they also serve appeltaart, sell cheeses and deli meats, and have a section of non-perishable foods, including hagelslag, drop, and HAK groenten. A big part of their business is the(10x) better-than-Subway Subs-division, where they prepare massive and delicious looking sandwiches. Popular with tradies. The prices for brekkie are as cheap as I’ve seen them in Perth. The shop looks pretty simple but toast with eggs and veggies + a sausage and coffee for $ 10.50 is a great deal! Btw, people behind the counter were super friendly and took time to explain all options. Fantastic place. Or in Dutch: «Bij de Dutch Butcher is het lekker smullen!»

Any place that has I large sign written above its entrance stating that the«Customer is King» is surely not going to disappoint. The continental rolls at this place are delicious. They are larger and tastier then the rolls you get from subway. Lunchtime is always a challenge at this place because it’s always packed.

Why was this place not introduced to me earlier in life? And why didn’t anyone tell me this was home to the best sausage rolls in all the land? WHYYYY??? *breathe* About four months ago, I was lucky enough to try their regular home-made sausage rolls and was told I had to try their bacon sausage roll. I have been back a couple of times but unfortunately they were always sold out(boooooo). That was until last weekend, when they FINALLY had some bacon sausage rolls waiting patiently for me to devour them. The pastry was perfect and flaky and the meat so juicy. Now I want to come back everyday! Will also have to come back and try their sandwiches after Lent when I can eat bread again.

Discovered this place after debating whether the Dutch had traditional cuisine or even fine cuisine to offer the world besides poffertjes, stroopwafels, and croquettes. I was sure that there must be and the other party was sure that they didn’t. One internet search later and I found the Dutch Butcher. This has to be one of Perth’s hidden ethnic gems. While sitting waiting for our food, several Dutch ex-pats walked in to order in fluent Dutch. We ordered a couple of loempias. What are loempias? Dutch twist on spring rolls. They were bigger than spring rolls. The filling had white cabbage, celery, celery leaves, meat,(we think it was pork), and it was seasoned. Our first order was still cold and was taken away with haste and sincere apologies by the chef, waitress, and an older woman I suspect is the matriarch of the establishment. Second order came out perfectly cooked and was delicious. They also insisted that we weren’t to pay for the loempias. There was a steady stream of people coming in to buy work lunches on a Saturday and staff were replenishing shelves. There are also signs advising lunch orders be in by 10AM to workers in the area. I could see why they were popular. As Matthew G says, they are sandwich artists. Each roll was freshly made with housemade meats,(and there’s A LOT of variety), with a choice of salads, sauces and relishes. What really impressed me was the option of pâté! No premade rolls in sight. If you love the meat, you can also buy it to take home along with cheese. The Dutch Butcher also sells Dutch smallgoods. Check out the freezer for frozen goods. We walked out with a couple of packets of stroopwafels.

The REAL sandwhich artists. Subway eat your heart out. I have been working in Welshpool for over 8 years and the Dutch Butcher has been a favourite lunch option of mine. For its large range of cold and hot meats, anti pasto, salads and freshly baked on site breads(now including GF). They also have a variety of hot meals changed daily to keep it interesting. I always try and get down to make it for 11.30 as this place can get a bit of a line around midday. Only downfall would sometimes the staff can seem like they are annoyed and can come off rude. Other than that a quality lunch bar with quality foods.
