When I need to celebrate, I have came here here more than once. It’s a pricey evening but I just love crayfish. The staff are polite and the ambiance is fitting. The only real negatives is that because it’s expensive I can’t afford to eat to my hearts content. The only disappointment I’ve had is because of TV — watching a TV show eat at «Red Lobster» and not seeing the same lobster tail extravaganza here. but a man can dream.

Average fare for high prices. Restaurant ambience is so so. Getting attention of wait staff to order was difficult

What do you want when you go out for a meal? Good décor, good food and to be made feel special. Well the Red Cray delivers this. From the moment we arrived at the Red Cray we were welcomed and made to feel comfortable and special. Every staff member made a point to greet you on arrival and thank you at the end of the evening. At no time during our visit was attention and service by the staff anything but great. As for the food. When you use the best ingredients and cook it simply and well then you are on a winner. The food was delicious and cooked to perfection. If you want good seafood cooked well and where the customer is king or queen, then the Red Cray is the place to go.

A very nice meal, my second time here. Always good service and all tied together in a reasonable time frame. The food has been great so far. Recommend.

Overall, the experience at Red Cray was pleasant, the food good, and the service excellent. I would be heading back there, but this time, to actually stick to what they’re special for — seafood! The dessert menu here was a nice change to what would usually be served at other restaurants. Simple and good. The service here was brilliant and cannot be faulted. I loved the fact that the waiter(s) who attended to us were so patient because we were still deliberating whilst ordering. We also had our wine glasses topped up regularly without having to do it ourselves, which does show a good level of attention. What really surprised us was that towards the end of our stay at Red Cray, one of the waiters walked to our table with a plate of dessert delights! We weren’t told the reason why but when I mentioned«oh how timely because we’re actually celebrating two birthdays today»… he brought the plate back and came out again with two candles on one of the cakes in the same plate. AWWW… This is what really makes the difference.

If you appreciate seafood you will appreciate the Red Cray. This restaurant is run extremely well and the staff pay excellent attention to detail in every aspect from food preparation to customer service. Speaking of customer service, it even has a guy on the door so you don’t have to waste that precious energy by actually opening it yourself. That being said, if I had never been there and someone told me that there is a door guy I would indeed think it was an upperty posh restaurant and wouldn’t bring my hood rat family anywhere near there. Luckily for me it doesn’t feel posh at all it’s actually extremely comfortable while maintaining a high level of class. The food itself is always top of the line fresh seafood. There is other things on the menu but I’m not going to a place called the Red Cray and buying anything other than seafood. So unfortunately for you the only thing I can say is get the seafood of any kind… its all amazing especially the executive platter.

My dad introduced me to Red Cray a couple of years ago; it’s somewhere he goes very often. I was hesitant to try it based on my dad’s recommendation as my idea and his idea of a good restaurant differ greatly. My dad would be as happy eating at McDonalds as he would a fine restaurant, and taking him to a French bistro would be like casting pearls before swine. Red Cray is located on a busy highway and a sign with a big red crayfish drawing marks the restaurant; it’s impossible to miss. The less than desirable location and austere shop front didn’t lift my expectations. Well, I was completely wrong because the seafood is exquisite. It’s amazingly fresh, cooked to precision and elegantly presented. The service can take a bit of patience, and ambience is somewhat lacking, but nothing leaves the kitchen that is short of exceptional; consistency is paramount. For seafood restaurants in Perth, Red Cray is one of the best, and most reasonably priced as well.

A group of us went to Red Cray a little while back for dinner. It was pouring down with rain outside and all the parking spots were taken. People had just started parking along the kerb so we joined in, then braced ourselves for the mad dash inside. To my surprise, a staff member had been positioned by the door with an umbrella to escort people in and keep them out of the rain. Talk about service! Red Cray is quite a small restaurant, and can feel a little cramped, but the food is exquisite and their cocktails to die for. As the title suggests, Red Cray specialises in seafood, but thankfully caters to seafood haters like me as well. They have $ 12 pasta meals, and I got the Linguini Diablo(pasta with spinach, chicken, cream sauce and parmesan). Absolutely beautiful, and very filling — and $ 12 for a main meal at a restaurant is hard to come by these days!
