My opinion of Oscar’s Ale House can be stated in one word:…“YUM” !!

The best choice in Belgrave! Good selection, friendly staff, gets busy early, but it’s a fun crowd. What’s even better, as a volunteer at Puffing Billy it’s just a short walk and I’m sure to find some mates there. A comfortable interior, and even better, I can walk home from here ;-)

Amazing selection of beers. The bar staff were friendly and helpful and suggested beers for us. Nice and friendly relaxed atmosphere. Will definitely be coming back.

In an area where getting a good beer can be difficult, Oscar’s is a godsend.
Sure, you can go to the Royal Hotel and pay $ 5 during happy hour but you won’t be happy for very long when you end up losing a tooth or lose your dole money on the pokies.
Every time I’ve been to Oscars I’ve been served well and staff know the drinks, Brad chooses everything himself and doesn’t put just anything on the menu. This system indicates to me a true love of what he does and giving a shit about the things that are served up.
Oscar’s has live bands, poetry nights and other artsy events from time to time.
We meet up with a friend who lives in Belgrave from time to time, my husband loves it.
The best place to get a good beer in the area.

Charming staff, surprisingly good food.
It’s a pity that the back deck closes so early, as it makes this bar a little crowded.
The beer can be a little expensive, but given how personalized the service is, it’s worth it.

The premises are intimate and charming, with old wood and comfy seating adding to the overall charm. With a great range of beer on tap and in the bottle, Oscars is the perfect place to sample and discover your new favourite beer.
Last I heard there wasn’t a full kitchen so food is in the way of gourmet snacks, such as cheeses and olives.
A small beer garden opens out from the back, and live music is hosted on a regular basis, with very decent acts choosing to stop by and play an acoustic set. (Check the Facebook page for what’s on.)
