The George Restaurant

Last time I was in Ballarat the George was under renovation, so went for lunch to see the transformation.
Looks lovely… but was almost empty. and I think the reason is the total lack of service. Ordered our meal in the empty restaurant by going to the bar. Meal was served — and that was the last we saw of anyone.
We ordered the Chicken Parma with salad and chips. It was excellent — unfortunately our request for tomato sauce was never fulfilled. We also ordered the Chicken and Prawn stir fry, which was perfectly prepared and delicious.
We left without ever seeing anyone again — perhaps because the staff were behind the bar texting instead of attending to patrons.
Overall a disappointment — would have been first rate if the service was as good as the food.
