Coffee can be very strong, dark roasted. I always have a milk based brew. Pretty good for a country town.

Extremely underwhelming. Roasting your own doesn’t guarantee taste. Way too bitter and weak several times I’ve been. However, a good range of teas and coffee beans to take home for yourself.

Ordered long black got dish water ordered an espresso to add to it not much different sorry but if you are used to Carlton coffee give this place A big miss.

So, it turns out Ballarat has a coffee roaster. With prizes and awards form various shows. And a café attached, complete with bloody good coffee.
Having been presented my coffee at the venue next door in a parer cup, I decided to try this place. To my dismay, this also arrived in a paper cup. By this stage I was thinking there must be some Ballarat code precluding the use of porcelain/​glass outside.
Thankfully, the short black was delicious. So much so that I went inside and ordered a latte. This too was delicious. Chatting to the staff was nice, but they seemed to want to argue with each other about the nuttiest tasting coffee, so I left them to that.
Purchasing two bags of beans to take home, I was very pleased overall.
Probably not a 5-​star experience in Melbourne, but still a highly commended pass for sure and the best coffee I had in Ballarat.
