Mojito Joe’s

Gorgeous view outside, nice drinks and good food. I wasn’t floored but I really enjoyed my visit!
The fried chicken wasn’t what I expected but was tasty and I really enjoyed it!
The jalapeño poppers were really good!
We saw someone get the HUGEST Bloody Mary — with prosciutto!
I would like to come back after a long day at the beach and have a big bucket of fries, some nachos and a beer, it was the perfect spot for it!

Nope, just nope!
A group of us went to Mojito Joe’s for a birthday dinner, the experience was less than spectacular.
Half of us arrived just before our 7.30pm booking, were seated and our bar tabs were set up. The second half of our group arrived just after 7.30pm, the drinks ordered by the first half of us arrived at the table almost half an hour later. Almost an hour later the rest of our table had bar tabs set up and our food was ordered.
Another 30 minutes pass and the second half of our drinks arrived at the table, 15 minutes after that the first couple of plates of food arrive. Another hour passes and the second half haven’t arrived plus where are our second order of drinks?
I know, they are all with the walk-​ins seated outside who seemed to get the best service? No cool!
Watching people who arrived after us, leave the restaurant full of food and drink we sat there like chumps as our waving hands to wait staff went ignored.
Finally we managed to get the attention of the waiter who reluctantly came to the table, realised he messed up our order, 20 minutes later the other half of our order had arrived.
We had ordered several other drinks, in the end we walked up to the bar to find out the bartender was just standing there. our drinks weren’t made yet! Really? They were that busy yet she was standing there not even making drinks?
Just before we left, still waiting for our last round of drinks, a lady who we can only guess was the restaurant manager came to our table and apologised for being slammed made an excuse of 2 staff members not coming into work and gave each of us a free drink for our next visit. My question as to why we weren’t made aware to begin with went unanswered!
We will not be returning to Mojito Joe’s the free drinks couldn’t even sway our opinion of this place. Why not make us aware of the staff shortage? Why ignore our table the whole time? Why did the walk-​ins get so much more attention?
Lesson learnt, bookings mean nothing to this place!

Very good food. My short ribs fell off the bone. The curry was delicious. Service was OK, we didn’t feel rushed at all and had a great table on the balcony with nice view of beach.

Directly opposite avoca beach slsc on iconic Avoca beach. Cracker of a location and a brilliant Hawaiian tiki bar theme nothing really compares with this on the central coast, great staff fantastic unique food, unbelievable view n location. Friday night drinks or Sunday lunch oh and great cocktails
