I would be absolutely astounded if I could find a single person out there who doesn’t feel the immediate impulsion to inhale two sisters pizza upon sight. These bad boys are so good there is no time to think and appreciate, this pizza requires the carefully crafted technique of eating as quickly as you can before your brain realizes you’re full. Trust me. Worth it. Like the pizza wasn’t good enough there is one secret weapon this joint has that rivals all. Two words: Garlic. Bread. Now, excuse me as I wipe the drool from the corners of my mouth because even the thought of two sisters garlic bread is enough to make my mouth water. Put this one on your bucket list — it’s a serious must! On a side note: lamb and pesto, can’t go wrong!

Two Sisters Pizza had been on my list of restaurants to try(yes, I have a list of restaurants I want to try?!? I can here your sniggering from here) since I moved back to Brisbane. It was their website design that lured me in initially. We finally got around to giving it a whirl and frankly, I can’t believe I waited so long to investigate their pizza menu. Before you pick up the phone to order or walk into the restaurant in Auchenflower forget all notions you have of take-away pizza. Try to remember the last time you ordered pizza that didn’t have that dark, oily grease stain on the bottom of the pizza box? Our pizza boxes were remarkably void of this and I’m not surprised. The two pizzas we ordered(Pesto Lamb and Tasty Bill) were the least greasy pizzas I’ve ever had. I’m not kidding! The fresh ingredients and simple flavours don’t come close to the delight I felt discovering not only do they offer gluten free bases but they actually taste akin to standard pizza bases. I’ve heard mixed reviewers of Two Sisters Pizza from friends but me personally? I’m a fan. While you’ll pay a little more than a regular pizza chain I still consider them to be resonably priced. Better still I can keep my stomach from writing me hate mail by choosing a gluten-free option and above all else the pizzas taste great. Plus the friendly staff don’t go astray.

I can’t understand why places like Domino’s and Pizza Hut are still in business when you’ve got choices like Two Sisters Pizza around town. If you live in or near Auchenflower, this is the place to get your pizza, I’ll tell you that for nought. Two Sisters have a killer Supreme pizza to offer. The toppings are generous and add some oomph to an already satisfying classic pizza choice. You’ll get leg ham, bacon, pepperoni, cabanossi, prawns, mushroom, green capsicum, red onion, kalamata olives, oregano all on one pizza! I would have to say the seafood menu is the pick of the lot. Your standard meat eaters menu is strong, and vegetarians won’t suffer either, but the seafood menu is where it’s at. I like to rip into the Chilli Prawn which is nothing more than prawns, basil, chilli, and parmesan, and ever so yum. I don’t know I feel about dessert pizza, but you can try it on for size here. The pizzas come in small($ 15), medium($ 18), and large($ 21). If you’re feeling like pizza, go support this family run business. They’re good at what they do, and they’re miles better than more main stream pizza chains.

What is better than a super cheesy, crispy based pizza loaded with exotic ingredients(well, exotic for a pizza)? A dessert pizza. And oh my goodness, it is ah-mazingly delicious! In all honesty, I had every intention of visiting Two Sisters Pizza to fulfil my daily vegetable intake and blow my dairy intake sky-high. But once I laid eyes on the bottom corner of the menu, I knew my vegetable intake would be unachievable. Banana and chocolate pizza? Umm, were there any other items on the menu? I think not. Oh, well beside the strawberry and chocolate pizza, but I’ll save that one for another time. The dough is the same that they use for the non-dessert pizzas, but rather than tomato sauce, it is lathered with rich hazelnut-infused chocolate sauce and dotted with sliced fresh banana. It is oozingly warm with a crispy base and will melt the heart of any chocolate lover. I recommend skipping main course purely for the dessert pizzas, as they are quite rich and the perfect size for one person. Or maybe do the smart thing and share a regular pizza and then follow-up with a dessert pizza — just a warning; you won’t want to share it.

Pizza here is fresh and extremely tasty. So be careful! You might get addicted. This little pizza place is run by two creative sisters, hence the name, who have a talent for making delicious pizza’s. I’ve been here a few times to pick up takeaway pizza’s for Friday night and it has always had plenty of customers. Good sign for business! Terrible sign for me, I have to wait. Of course, I’d strongly recommend calling ahead and being there 15 – 20 minute later rather than waiting around in there. They’ve got a great range in Pizza’s and have a section in their menu’s dedicated to seafood pizza’s, for all them seafood lovers like me. My favourite seafood pizza they do is the ‘Mediterranean’. Yum! Others you must try are ‘Spicy Marinated Lamb’ and ‘Roast Chicken’. Both equally deserving of a sample. Two Sisters Pizza is one of the best pizza places west of the city, call ahead for reservations or takeaways.
