Gorgeous place, the patio must be amazing in the summer time! Came in for a brunch and had an amazing dish that had hummus and eggs with heaps of fresh herbs on top and pomegranate seeds. The long black was really good as well! Had a seat by the kitchen and all the food coming out looked and smelled delicious. Highly recommend!

This place is a very nice local café, with a buzzing atmosphere inside and a beautifully designed outdoor dining area at the back. They do great coffee and have an ecclectic menu filled with breakfast favourites and a variety of internationally inspired lunch dishes. It is at the higher end of the price bracket for this area, but clearly a lot of effort goes into the menu and the service is fast and friendly. We had the grilled fish bahn mi and the lamb salad, and both were very tasty. The bahni mi was a bit different, being served in a seeded hamburger bun, but it really worked. The lamb salad was good, but could have been a bit bigger and it really needed a small bread roll to sop-up the nice dressing. We look forward to heading back there and might even try their dinner too, which is on Friday nights.

Very close to Chadstone Shopping Centre yet miles away from anything that shopping centre’s café’s(I’m sorry to say this but I have tried a lot of them) has to offer, grab your friends, make any excuses to get them here and they will thank you for it. They have an all day breakfast and a big lunch menu, amazing customer service, wide space inside and at the backyard. We have no other reason but to love and appreciate what this guys are doing.

Hidden away next to the rail line in suburban Ashburton, the resident has established itself as the hip local brunch location. Equipped with a large outdoor area it suits the mild Melbourne spring days. The breakfast menu seems substantial enough with highlights of cured New Zealand salmon with rosti and eggs. The truffled mushroom with fried eggs looks a little slapdash. Service here is a bit haphazard and large wait times between being coffee and food is unacceptable. On the day we went they even managed to run out of fresh juice although I am not sure how that is possible. What could have been a great experience was a bit of a let down.

The beef brisket sandwich. Slow braised beef brisket and pickled zucchini ciabatta sandwich. This. OMG. «What is this magic?!» was a comment of my dining partner. Worth it just for the sandwich alone. Beautifully balance beef to bread and relish ratio. Sit out back for a lovely sun-drenched vibe.
