The staff were friendly and attentive but the food was overly priced and the taste was not as impressive as the it should have been on the price side. Mushroom Risotto was a bit salty and the veal was a bit overcooked and bland.

Stopped by for dinner as our local hosts had heard Gucce was good. I checked out the reviews here and thought it looked promising… i was not disappointed! We split two tasting plates between four of us — the polenta fingers and the suppli. Both were delicious and set the tone for the evening. The polenta fingers were crisp and the hint of salt set them off nicely. The rosemary gave a nice undertone without being too overpowering. The sauce that came with the polenta was also perfect for the dish — it was a light mayo with a touch of chili. The suppli were little balls of bliss with a perfect blend of rice and parmsan wrapped around a very tasty cube of tallegio. Stand out mains were the pork belly(divine) and the barramundi with the beef cheek pie and pasta also being deemed very nice. The pork was so tender and fell apart when prodded by the fork. The cracking was amazing as it was very thin and crispy so you realy enjoyed the crunch without the fear that you might crack a tooth! I’m not a pork fan, so i had the barra and it was cooked perfectly, nice and crispy crumb coating served on a bed of potatoes and spinach. The tomato and caper salsa set it off perfecty. Desert was hard to choose from the many fine choices, but in the end we had the semi fredo and the nougat brulee. semi fredo was amazing as it was light and tasty and served with just right amount of cream and chocolate drizzle. The brulee had a perfect crunchy topping and was well liked by my host. The service deserves its own paragraph ad i have rarely enjoyed it done so well. We had two servers who took care of us all evening and they were efficient and unobtrusive and professional. A very enjoyable evening!

Reinvented itself! An I’ve heard it from more than a few lately! Many years ago I went here when it first opened. Back then I felt it was more or less another family Italian style restaurant in Applecross. The main thing that was capturing was the beautiful premises in the Applecross village that I would liken to a Beverley Hills designer boutique. From memory I wasn’t taken by it. However I used to often get their takeaway pizza deals and they were pretty good pizzas. I made a booking for 3 of us including a Melbourne ‘foody friend that just moved here recently. Her job being corporate she’s ate at some of Melbourne’s greatest! I decided to choose this place as someone I knew had a family connection to it and a good family friend recently took a table of 8 here for a celebration which they all thoroughly enjoyed. Being an Applecross born child I noticed a lot of my local friends that have been in the area started throwing around good feedback about this place. It’s becoming rather talked about lately. So we order a nice little garlic bread starter and it was late so we were hungry and got straight into mains. For mine I got the lamb and potatoes as I was recommended to try it. Wow it was falling off the bone, the rosemary was present in the flavor and the potatoes too. The serving was soo decent! We all commented at the size for value. What I can honestly say about this place is why get lower quality Italian food for the difference of maybe 3 – 4 dollars. My friend got the beef cheek pie. Omg this was so succulent and you could taste the wine in it. Hearty and full of flavor I would love this dish on a cold winters night. Goes nice with a good glass of Shiraz too. My other friend got the pork belly and cabbage. She felt this was cooked to perfection also. Much to her testimonial I tried it and it was very well done crispy on the top etc. I can’t comment on the cabbage but it looked good. All and all I rate this place by value for money, we were all full, great quality and flavor and we all really fell in love with the venue. It was so nice. Hidden gem and bonus having a bottle Shop next door that you can take out from On your way home. There’s also plenty of parking in the village at this time.

A fantastic experience from the time you enter until you leave. The food is very well done and reasonably priced, the staff are very helpful and knowledgable. With ample parking this place is a gem.
