As soon as I walked into Paper Moon, I knew I’d found my new local. What other café features free billiards, or a jukebox loaded up with blues, motown, reggae and some local Brissie bands? Or a back-room full of comfy couches? Or a back-patio with live music on alternating weekends? Or a massage-chair in the corner(Saturdays). The coffee is good and served with a smile. This is a place to spend some time over your cup, chatting with the friendly people behind the bar. The rare Brisbane café that feels like home. I just wish they were open longer…

Fave new find in Annerley! Good coffee, funky vintage décor and nice peeps = Paper Moon Café. As the a-frame out the front of Paper Moon states ‘Coffee & Comfort Inside’ and they deliver on that promise! This place is perfect for coffee catch-ups with friends. There’s a great open space around the counter complete with pool table that’s free to play and around every corner there’s another nook with comfy couches and even back garden area. Cool note: They will allow canine friends to join in the fun if you sit outside. There isn’t an extensive menu with mostly pies & wraps on the savoury side and cake & slices for sweet but the coffee served is really good — from Bare Bones roastery. Cold pressed is available too! Paper Moon has a distincly vintage feel with repurposed car seat benches out the front and retro video game tables! As the name suggests it’s also a function space if you’re looking for a cool place to hold you’re next function. Definitely worth checking out if you’re on the south side.
