Maestro Meats

I love this place! Absolutely the best quality meats, best customer service, and the prices are fair. This is only the second time I’ve been in, but the proprietor remembered me from my last visit. He asked about my last purchase, just to make sure all went well.
Service this good is very tough to find anymore!

This shop space has been a butchery for the last 30-​something years, trading under the name of Allens Meats, but has recently changed hands and become Maestro Meats. It hasn’t yet got any signage up, but it is trading and there are some greats meats to be found within.
The cuts are all pretty traditional, but the meat is of excellent quality and is sourced fairly locally. Their beef comes from Warrick and their lamb from Tassie, and it’s good to know also that their chicken has been barn-​raised and not cooped up too tightly. I’ve had some good chicken sausages, chicken kebabs, and lamb chops from there, but there’s so much more I’d buy from there if I lived closer. Prices are reasonable – maybe a tiny bit more expensive than Coles, but definitely better quality.
It’s also worth noting that the new owners are planning to put a smoke house in for making their own smoked meats! Pretty exciting news for the residents of Annerley/​Moorooka.
