Sadly this place isn’t what it used to be. Service has declined. Trying to get a waiters attention was futile so resorted to getting our own pepper mill and parmesan. Even though we ordered at the same time our meals(there were only two to coordinate in the kitchen) came out at different times. At no time were we approached to see if we wanted the basics like cracked pepper, more drinks, coffee or dessert. The restaurant was 60% full at best. This used to be our local go to restaurant for a long lazy lunch, sadly no more.

Ordered a tagliatelle with meat balls. Taste wise was ordinary and the meat balls was far too salty overpowering the taste of meat ball. Pretty disappointed with my meal. Not up to the good reviews that I have heard. It’s expensive when taking into account the bland taste of their meals.

Very nice dinner. A bit pricey but it it very good for a pizza or pasta dish. I did enjoy my pizza but it took a while. The best thing was that crispy zucchini flower. Yum!

Good pizzas. Great pasta dishes. Also has a cool little market where you can buy fresh eggs, greens, pastas, sauces, cheeses for your own italian dinner at home. Grab an outside table. Service can be spotty but who cares – it goes with the easy chill location and vibe. Coz…

I’m surprised that the average rating is so low. I just had some of the most amazing pizza here and the service was actually pretty good too(as a Canadian in Australia I’m usually unhappy with the level of service at most places — just add a point of reference). It may be that we were there when it wasn’t busy but everything was great. We wondered through the store side too which was pretty cute and appeared to have some nice produce and oils. The pizza was served with a chili oil that was tasty with the pizza crust. We had the margarita pizza and a special with pumpkin and sausage — both delicious. It was a nice ambiance too and we sat outside and people watched.

Worst service ever! Had to ask to be seated:/ poor attitude. No smile. And restaurant wasn’t even 1⁄3 full. Had to get the waiters attention to order and then they didn’t come to serve us for 15minutes!!! Never eat here if you value customer service.

It’s my local. Food is good. Beef salad excellent. Reasonable value. Cocktails good. Service uniformly bad: day, night, weekday, weekend, busy or quiet. Excluding wait for meals(which is understandably kitchen and busy-ness related) it’s very slow and inattentive. No signs of active management of wait staff. In financial terms: I’ve been there many times and only tipped once. Once the food and drink is in front of me I feel good but it’s frustrating otherwise.

Nestled in the local community of Alexandria this pub looking Café Sopra is quite something. The vibe is awesome and always buzzing with energy and people. One side of the restaurant is for the mercato and bottleshop while the other side is where all the action happens. We got the linguini with crab meat and zucchini chilli, tagliatelle with salsicce and the polenta with fungi and Gorgonzola picante. The picante was full of flavour and definitely is there to share, finish that plate yourself and you’re done for the day. It’s that heavy. Linguini was fresh and you can taste every single ingredient that’s used to made this awesome dish. The tagliatelle was more plain and was a good feed. Only thing that’s disappointing is the service. Although we got a table within minutes, the food took 40 minutes. There’s just a lack of staff to service a stampede of hungry people. If you can byo water, do it! Another thing, parking is an issue so first in best dressed! Will I come back again? Ah hell yeah!
