I remember as a kid riding to this chip shop many a time with mates to pick up a grease hit. The chips were great. They double fried them so they were crispy but not to the point of the insides becoming liquid. Since then the place has changed hands and that one favourite point of the place has fallen away. They lost it. They do an alright chicken burger here with a generous amount of real chicken, but everything else is just pretty typical chook shop fodder. No originality, or real standup burgers. The salads are of the lukewarm bain marie variety that you know have come out of an industrial tub as well. Also, I need all of my fingers and a few of my toes to count the times I’ve seen rats run out from the back of the store. Overall, it’s good enough for your typical fried food take away, but there’s nothing special to recommend this place.

When shops change hands it usually goes one way or the other, as in it gets better… or worse. In this case I’m sad to say that the quality of the product and service has significantly decreased. I remember there used to be this little plaque up on the wall that said«The Best Chips In the Hills» and I’m not sure if its still there but if it is… it lies. I can’t fault them on their speed of service, the food is fast, but I have never seen a yiros made in such a way in all my days of drunken hunger. The salads also leave a lot to be desired, but then that could have something to do with my extreme dislike of tabbouleh and seafood extender. And I wouldn’t recommend hitting up this place for some greasy food after a big night out, simply because the interior walls are painted in that horrible almost fluorescent green paint that will almost certainly have you leaving with a worse headache than when you walked in. Time to crank some sunglasses guys, this place glows likes its radioactive.
