Albert Park Driving Range

This is my new stress relief, whacking (attempting to at least) balls as far as I can, while enjoying a beer.
The driving range is 2 levels, I head upstairs as I don’t want the people that can actually hit the ball to see the embarrassment that is me.
The beer and bash is a really great way of enjoying an hour away from the real world.
If you get sick of trying to hit the balls too far, there is a putting green available.
Other great little things — they have lessons and a pro shop for those that don’t want to be so hacky.

I enjoy this place every time I go! I mean how good is 100 balls, a driver and a beer for $ 25 bucks!
They also do great beginner classes for those of us that have no idea about golf! Teaches you the basics of golf allows you to try all aspects of the club.
You don’t have to be a pro to hit some balls this place defiantly allows you to work on your swing with wide ranges of people from advance to rookie!

There’s balls, lots of them, flying through the air as various skill levels of punters (mainly men) smack them with metal clubs.
Some bring their own clubs, some hire. Some even have beers in hand when not slogging said balls.
Albert Park driving range has 2 levels to smack your balls. You can hire loads of balls (100) for under $ 20. They also have a putting area to hone your close range skills. And they offer a basic tuition lesson for those who are keen.
It’s a basic driving range and it could perhaps have a larger refreshment area, but it does sell beer which I thought was a winner and you can also have fun by trying to hit the ball cart when it’s out picking up balls. All up A-​OK!

There aren’t many driving ranges in Melbourne, I’ve found. And even less that allow for amateurs to indulge their rusty swing in a half hour of golf. So on these grounds I recommend Albert Park Driving Range.
The setting is beautiful, well as beautiful as a driving range gets. You can smack your ball into any number of lush trees at the periphery of the range, otherwise there are of course the stock-​standard signs. I will say that for the intermittent golfer prices can be a bit steep.
All in all you won’t get too many of the pretentious kind here, so when you swing about 4 or 5 times without actually making contact with the ball it won’t be too much of an utter embarrassment.

This driving range is probably one of the main ones in Melbourne. It’s two stories, has pro-​golf store (where you can buy pies and drinks), chipping and putting area.
It also offers excellent classes and private lessons.
I’ve been here quite a few times, and personally I only come here based on convenience. I prefer a quite driving range, and though albert park has its quite times it sure can get busy from 4−8pm.
I underwent their introductory golf lessons, where I was in a group of about 5−8people, every week we learnt a different aspect (irons, drivers, chipping, putting) and I really did learn a lot from the lessons. My swing didn’t exactly improve tenfold after the classes, as practice makes perfect… and well I guess I didn’t really practice between the classes. My partner got a private lesson here once, the instructor took a video of him then took us into a little office to compare his video with a professionals. This really helps as you’re able to see everything you’re doing wrong. The instructor then got my partner to use a special molded handle and oh my goodness! He had only gotten to maybe 100m (the furthest and completely off course), but with this molded handle it would’ve been 200m and dead straight. He is a much better golfer these days since the lesson.
The two types of lessons are a different, the group ones over all aspect gives good basic knowledge, whereas the private lesson only targets one aspect (of your choice) but more in depth.
Still a great driving range though.

Albert Park Driving Range is the ultimate! Great to swing a few clubs and hit a few balls. I frequent the range on weekly basis with work colleagues or friends followed by a pub meal afterwards. In most cases its to let off a little steam from a busy working week but also a great way to keep in contact with old work friends.
The APDR boasts two ultra cool levels of where you can swing for 75 or if you’ve really had a bad day aim for over 250. You can purchase a bucket of 50 balls or 100 balls for under $ 20 and if you decide to turn pro there is weekly demonstrations with coaching and a putting green where lessons can be held.
