A beautiful spot for a little Australiana! I swear it’s always a few degrees cooler than anywhere else under these beautiful old shady trees. I’ve hosted events here on a 36 degree day in a 3 piece suit, so I know! Side note, the Connect! Festival, an event showcasing performing arts from groups for people with high support needs(like SCOSA) happens here every year in November. It’s a fun day with a live band and free BBQ and is a wonderful way show some support for these groups.

The perfect place for a family get together over the weekend. Loads of trees for shade, as well as two hut structures to escape the hot afternoon sun, We chose the table and chairs under the large trees, It was perfectly located between the toilets and the playground and the electric BBQ, which there are no less than 3 situated around the park. With the car park also close by we were able to bring everything we needed in a few trips rather than lug it all in one go. The family has decided it was a great day and we should come back next year for the annual family do.

A good old fashioned park with plenty of room for everyone, free BBQs, undercover tables, seating and a fenced playground. Plenty of parking on site or on the side streets, and the grassed areas are frequently mown for games(no golf allowed says the signs). There’s also a basketball hoop with concrete underneath and a couple of «huts» if the weather turns foul. Over the road The Gums continues with a winding creek and a bushland setting — handy for a longer dog walk or child exploration. A handy spot to gather large groups of different ages — a bit of everything for everyone! PS Also a beautiful spot for the dawn service ANZAC day ceremony.
