Just ate here Had cold rolls absolutely tasteless. Ordered pad Thai gross oily Too much coriander that gave overkill to the meal Cheap dinner 60 for 2 with wine. First and last time there. Felt sick afterwards. Give it a miss Should have gone to lemongrass

Great place for lunch. They have a fairly large selection of wok, noodle and rice dishes to choose from. A bonus for me was that they offer kangaroo as a meat option in several dishes. I ordered a spicy wok dish, can’t remember the name, with kangaroo and a side of egg noodles. The meat was thin sliced and tender. It was definitely spicy, enough to make me sweat a little, but not so hot that it took away from the flavor. The staff was very friendly and attentive. The food was fantastic and the portions were generous. If given the opportunity I will be eating here again.

Great spot for a quick lunch in Rundle street stretch of eateries, and with $ 9.90 special on noodles and rice dishes, that’s great value. Serving portions are generous and Friday lunch time is packed with workers seating up and down stairs as well as outside. Turnover is fast and am impressed with the attentive staff who work at a pace in satisfying the lunch time crowd. Most diners just have the specials and why wouldn’t you for all the individually cooked noodles dishes Pad Thai was a bit ‘wet’ for my liking but that’s an individual preference but the Singapore noodles was well balanced.

I’m going to buck the trend and 4-star Spices based on it delivering a consistently good experience whenever I’ve visited. It’s no going to blow you away with authentic Thai, no. The number of choices on the menu should indicate this immediately. What I do love Spices for is the portion sizing, price and wait time factors. I personally I’d avoid noodles, entrees, desserts. The thai green curries or grilled chicken/beef options use decent cuts of meat, minus lashings of sweet sauce /coconut milk and have reasonable vegetable accompaniments. At around $ 13 – 15 with a side of rice this is as close to what I eat 95% of the time through the week as I get this side of town at 7:30−8pm at night. Food is always out quickly regardless of how busy they are. Also a pretty safe bet for fussy eaters; the use of chilli is minimal and the menu fairly tame. Spices isn’t the kind of place you’d leave home just to come to. Go in following shopping if you’ve parked on Rundle Road, as a casual bite before heading out to drinks, for a moderately healthy late PM meal.

One of the best restaurants in Rundle St. Food good, reasonable prices and servings. Staff friendly and happy to oblige where necessary.

We had the bbq pork and noodles plus the Tom Yum soup with seafood. Both were large portions and passable but far from a meal that would seduce you to return. Think of it as a place to quench the hunger because you were stuck in this corner of the CBD. pros — relatively cheap for this part of town and friendly staff. cons– relatively low quality compared to what you can get near the Central Market.

You guys normally good. This one time you had an opportunity to make my day but you missed it. I regularly came in for your lunch special which finishes at 3. I made into the store at 2:58pm and your refused to make a dish for me on the special price. «Sorry we can’t» I was like wow. What a shame. Not only did u loose $ 9.90 that day. Mostly likely not coming back again with all my uni mates. That day I Went next door and spent even more there. Hope you learn from it.

A good thing about this place is, because the food whizzes out so darn fast the table turnover is quick, so you can wander in any time and get a table. They also have quite a good wine list here, a decent number of whites by the glass is hard to come by at the quick serve eat and go places sometimes. The spicy black bean with vegetables was too spicy for this one, but the chicken in peanut sauce is my reliable favourite. I like the ‘eat, enjoy, get out of here’ ambience of this place, it’s buzzy because everyone’s scoffing chow on their way to movies, bars, or like me and my good friend, they drunk too much and need to power up on noodles before rejoining the city night. Also: fried ice cream with chocolate topping, give me one good reason why not.

I think the word ‘adequate’ is appropriate in describing this place. The only thing I’ve tried here is the pad thai, and I didn’t think that it was bad, per se. I just didn’t think it was awesome, either. I mean, the taste was okay, and it wasn’t expensive, but then again, I’ve paid about the same for some much better renditions of that dish. If you’re in a hurry, there are many, many worse choices around Adelaide, but there’s also a lot of better choices too. I think I’d probably be inclined to eat here again, but only if there were no other choices that were at least as convenient as this place. The lunch deals do look good, I must admit.

I came here for lunch with a friend and ordered the peppered pork with rice, while she ordered the pad thai. Both were good, not the best, but good. It did the job — saved me from starvation. It’s pretty good value though, with most mains being under $ 15. You can order your own dish or share a couple of mains with steamed rice or noodles. As Michelle mentioned, they offer great lunch deals. Both outdoor and indoor seating are nice, with no wall separating the spaces so sitting indoors means you still get loads of fresh air in the spring/summer. In winter they just pull the doors in to form a glass wall.

Not a bad lunch time option if you’re in the city and want something cheap and fast. I’ve only tried the pad thai, and the singapore noodles, but both were nice and flavoursome. Not quite top restaurant quality, but not far off. They offer a cheap lunch deal, which usually draws me in, or if I’m going to the m, ovies and need something fast.
