Delicious food, fast service, great price. Nothing fancy, but sometimes you just wanna eat until you hurt, you know? I have been to one other Pappa Rich(in Canberra) and it seems on par. Went on a Friday night and the two of us got a table easily enough — after looking through the extensive menu we ordered a curry chicken cutlet and beef rending with fried chicken and biryani rice. And two roti cannai — though one would have been enough. You order using a number system and jot down your choice on a little notepad, then press a button for a waiter to come and whisk away your order. It is very efficient. The food comes out piping hot, neatly presented with a mound of rice and garnishes. My fried chicken cutlet was juicy and crispy and the curry sauce was very moreish. Served with tasty ginger rice, a fried egg(yay!) and and a little(probably frozen) vegetable medley. I appreciated the inclusion of some veggies however! Beef rendang was fall-apart soft, and the fried chicken maryland hot and succulent. My partner couldn’t finish his meal, the serving size was so generous. The standout for me was the roti cannai — soft but flaky with crispy edges and a buttery taste. It is served on a big metal platter with three sauces, a yellow possibly lentil-based curry, a smooth coconut curry sauce my partner went nuts over, and a sweet chilli sambal that must have been distilled from the tears of angels… it was delicious. Next time I will see if I can get it smothered all over my food. Drinks were fun, I liked the nutty ‘open sesame’ concoction with black sesame ice cream. No booze though, but that doesn’t bother me. Go here! Take your family — it seems pretty kid friendly too. Get the roti cannai and thank me when you are in blissful chilli sauce heaven!

This place ticks all the boxes, flavourful food, perfect portions for the price, awesome ambience, having the food taste similar to Malaysia is skill. Two thumbs up.

I came here with a friend on Friday night to find the line had not shortened. We waited about 20 min before being seated. The food is a mixture of Indian and Malaysian, and not overly impressive. I ordered the pan mee soup, and I do love red bean, so I ordered the red bean smoothie. If you don’t know you order by writing down what you want first and then dinging the bell. Service was quick and the staff reasonable. It got pretty noisy in there so not ideal for a date, more for a quick lunch or dinner. It’s like pepper lunch.
