Not good but not terrible. Just a standard quiet Saturday arvo pub with two screens for sport and an average beer list. Wouldn’t bother again myself.

We had 1 drink at this old and outdated«pub» before moving on, the bar staff were more5 interested in talking to their friends than serving anyone else and were rude when dragged away to get us drinks. We were going to eat here but decided to find elsewhere to eat.

I have a secret. I freaking LOVE this place. Ok, so maybe it’s not such a secret! Saturday nights this place is cranking, all ages go from 18 through to baby boomers. Such a relaxed atmosphere and decent priced drinks. The balcony is also great on balmy summer nights, however, private shows are often held up there too. There’s generally a band on a Saturday night and Thursday is cheap vodka night 2for1 from 9 – 10 and $ 3 for the rest of the night. I’ve even eaten here… What can I say? It’s my second home!!! Wednesday is there schnitzel special night. Around the world toppings means there’s something for everyone and for $ 15 that includes a pint of beer who’s complaining? Definitely not me! See ya there Saturday ;)

Love it here, but can be noisy. Food and drinks good, and worth paying for. Wheelchair access tricky(can be obtained via fire exit doors in the lane way to the left of the main entrance), and if one(as a wheelchair user) is by one’s self it can be nigh on impossible to gain anyone’s attention inside the pub that access is required if you just bang loudly on the fire door. Also, watch out for shards of glass in that lane way, from smashed bottles. If wheelchair access is required it’s best to ring the pub before you arrive so they can open the door for you. Great place to be on St Patrick’s Day, but very rowdy.

This is my fave place to go on a Saturday. I like it because its laid back and there isn’t heaps of over the top and too trendy people. It normally has a cover band on a Saturday night and they turn the lights off for dancing about 10. Drinks are reasonably priced here aswell. Thursday nights are called forbidden Thursdays and they have two vodkas for $ 3.

Have been here a few times, prices are resonable and do imperial pints here. Food menu is good and have a good range of meals which are nice and at a good price. The pub can get busy expesially at the weekends, has a upstairs area too with live bands playing and good size dance floor too…

Well. its a run of the mill Irish pub… its décor is dark, the bar/tables/seats dark wood, the lighting has brass fittings. A very olde world feel to it! Upstairs is brighter… probably due to the windows and balcony. The good thing is the imperial pints for a modest price. The food is good pub food and includes the usual pub items with a few Irish dishes thrown in too. The pizza are pretty good and very cheap! The prices for other food are also good for an east end city location. The pub although quite quiet in the day times can be very loud and packed on the weekend, it has a good atmosphere, with decent drink specials too. The live bands here can be good too, and get you on the floor eventually!

As I’ve mentioned in some of my other reviews, I get a little excited whenever going to an Irish pub. There’s something about the jovial atmosphere and the brotherly love that just makes me want to down a pint and start singing! PJ O’Brien’s is the perfect place to live out these desires and knock a few back with your closest friends. Everybody in here seems to be pretty friendly, from the clientele to the staff. I’ve never felt threatened coming here, although I have seen a few fights here and there as I’ve walked passed on busy nights. What kind of Irish pub would it be without a bar fight though, right? Their imperial pints are enormous and will set you up with enough Guiness for at least half an hour, and they have an extensive range of beers of all varieties. The only thing I’m not a fan of is the fact that PJ O’Brien’s acts as host for the occasional bikini contest. On these nights the bar is solely filled with perverted men, and I think this bar has a bit more class than to pull a cheap trick like this.

I love Irish pubs. They make me feel at home, even though I’m not Irish at all. I don’t know, it’s something I can’t explain. I’ve been here a few times on a Friday night($ 5 pints) and always had a great night. It does get very crowded with groups of students though at some point so if you want to avoid them, make sure to go to PJ’s straight after work and find yourself a different place at around 10, 11pm. That’s usually when the drunken crowds arrive. Very friendly bar staff, great and fun bands on and nice traditional wooden interior. Love it!

Uhhhhh sexist! PJ’s is probably most well known for it’s weekly Thursday night«Lady’s Night». Free/half price drinks for ladies… Kind of ridiculous really. But anyway… This is definitely an Irish pub, it has a woody and brass décor and an oddly low roof. There are often live bands here and there is also a pool table. I took a university club pub-crawl through here once, the staff were friendly and very accommodating. Well the staff were usually friendly. I’ve seen the staff being unusually aggressive towards customers at times. For no good reason from what my sober eyes could tell me. i can understand dealing with drunks on a nightly basis would be frustrating, but if you can’t handle, go find another job!

Diddly dee potatoes! With an Irish name like mine, I can’t help but love this quaint little Irish pub immediately. The well-known«Ladies Night» first drew me to this venue, as the girls got all dressed up and excited for cheap drinks. Being a student, I was all down for the cheap drinks, which at one stage of the night were only $ 1 each. This pub isn’t particularly fancy, but it’s as cosy and fun as you can get. Not one for the metro loving, electronic music types, more for people who like a chance to meet new people and dance to old chart toppers. Spice Girls and Michael Jackson had me all over the dancefloor. Thursdays and Saturdays are the best nights to hit up PJ’s. The music is fun, everyone has a good time, and you more than often meet a few tourists there.

Ooh a little leprechaun! Haha I can’t help doing an Irish accent when I talk about or go to PJs. This little pub on East Tce is a great loud beer drinking place which goes off(on different levels) nearly every day of the week. They have awesome love bands which you are so close to you feel like a roxy star yourself, DJs, sports events and chatty random British people to strike up a conversation with. Ladies night on a Thursday was usually where I go, with cheap as drinks for hours for ladies, and of course the men are out in force to snag a few. I went to PJs as my first club when I turned 18, on my actual birthday. I didn’t even get checked for ID. Shhh. The layout is a little confusing and small for the amount of people and groups which cram in there, especially because they have pool tables which limit people in that area. There is also an upstairs, but unlike other clubs, downstairs is where to be. There is some outdoor seating, which is good and well used in summer, but there is no beer garden or enclosed outdoor area. I’ve been on so many pub crawls here and met so many interesting people, like English soccer teams and men with kids my age. Defintely an interesting pub to check out, and you will probably end up spending the night there having a ball.

I really like PJ’s, it’s a great little irish pub where you can catch up with friends over a meal, or a few drinks. As with most pubs, it can get pretty rowdy(though I’d expect nothing less from an irish pub!), but it has such a great friendly atmosphere, you can forgive the noise. There is live music nights, trivia nights, sports nights, DJ’s.there is something on most nights of the week.

For my final year of uni our pub crawl started off at PJs, and we managed to spend half our night there before crawling out, it was that good. It usually gets pretty packed and is filled to the brim, with a lot of people hanging around outside as well as having a great time inside. There are pool tables, live music, game nights, and ladies night every Thursday — my favourite. It’s the least pretentious place and has such a good atmosphere, with people just genuinely wanting to have a good time. Such a good time that once, I walked into the ladies to find a gooey surprise on the bathroom floor and it wasn’t even midnight yet.

Located on East Terrace in the city, P.J. O’Briens is an Irish Pub with all the right attitudes, featuring Live Bands, DJs, Music Trivia, and great food. There is always something on each week at P. J’s, including Music Trivia on a Tuesday night, Ladies Night on a Thursday, with live bands over the weekend and Sunday Sports Days. Also, for your information, this is one of the only places I have been to where the laides night was not full of creepy men trying to sleaze on everyone in a skirt. Also, what more do you want from an Irish pub than an Irish pub full of beautiful Irish people with amazing Irish accents waiting on you? P.J’s is good place for a drink whether it’s a casual one after work, or a celebration. There is plenty of room, though if you want to go there for St Patrick’s Day you would want to 1) arrive early and 2) be prepared for a lot of people packed into the same place.

Who ordered The Craic? Did anyone want some Craic? As an Irish term for fun, and entertainment, this place has an abundance of it(well the times I’ve been there anyway). You’re in for fun the moment you walk in. There’s teapots hanging from the rafters, and books on the shelves you can’t open. The place generally packs out most weekends, cover bands play downstairs, and there is also an upstairs balcony area available(if it hasn’t already been booked for a private function). As an old regular from way back, It was a proud moment when I made the 100 pint club and got my name on the board(look at me now Dad). Years later, I still like to drop in on occasions during a weekday, order some bangers and mash and have a chat to my mate George.
