Have visited this Cycle Shop on a number of occasions and have always found the service first rate and helpful. My last visit was to get my Shimnano shoe clips fixed. The service guy went more than the second mile fixing these, completed the job while I waited, furthermore there was no charge. Not only do these guys know what they are talking about, but extremely obliging. My next bike will be bought at Giant Cycle World.

Nice store and a good range but it ends there. I buy bikes every few years and every single time I have come into this store the staff are either not interested in serving, usually looking busy with shop maintenance or when you finally get their attention they’re disinterested in selling. I walked in there the other week and asked for a good price on a bike and they told me it wasn’t possible because the bike was too new. 15 minutes later I bought the same bike from Super Elliot’s in Rundle street, with helpful staff and a good buy. I guess I have to thank them for their rude and condescending demeanour. I ended up with what I wanted and helping a small SA business.

After a less-than-satisfying experience at a local competitor(see my previous review), I was pleasantly surprised at the level of service I received at this store. Due to my height, it was difficult to find a store stocking frames suitable for me. One staff member, Mike(legend), went to the effort of contacting a regular customer who owned the bike I wanted, in order for me to take his for a test ride — an unexpected and very kind offer. Unfortunately the bike’s owner was working in the country for a while, so Mike had another frame in their storeroom built up for me, and called me to let me know it was built and available for me to test ride. I took the bike for a test ride(after leaving my wallet behind the counter as security), and decided to purchase. I was given a very competitive price, had my tyres swapped over, and had some accessories fitted to the bike, all completed in a timely fashion. The store has a good range of bikes and accessories, very knowledgeable and friendly staff, and the store is always well-presented and visually appealing. Pricing on accessories are not the cheapest around, but nor are they the most expensive. There are also a huge number of spots out the front where you can safely lock up your bike while you browse. If you’ve got your mind set on a Giant, or you’re interested in exploring your options, drop into the Giant store, they’ll take care of you.

Well… this place is pretty big, but I would hardly say it’s «Giant» Then again, is size everything? I’m not a woman so I don’t know… Giant is simply a bike store. Yes I was surprised when I approached the shop with the name«Giant» emblazoned across it only to look through the window and see bikes. The name just doesn’t seem to represent what the place is all about. The store has a large amount of bikes and accessories as you’d imagine. There are bikes in all shapes and sizes all at varying prices, mostly high… This isn’t the first place I’ve seen this though so I assume cycling is an expensive passtime these days. If you want a bike you’ll get some good advice here, so check them out.
