I love the new use of this space through Renew Adelaide. Colab is a beautifully put together space. I love the bench top that sits in the window. It’s quite wide and easy to work on with a laptop when you’re searching for a space to increase productivity alongside you caffeine hit. The music playing is cool, and not too loud, the staff are really friendly and the coffee is delicious and well priced. I’ve been drinking flat whites and they’ve been excellent. Interesting magazine choices are throughout the café(e.g. New Scientist!) as well as beautiful cookbooks. I think what they’ve nailed is a really cool aesthetic in quite a corporate space but still managed to cater to the business crowd/everyday citizen walking past. Really, really nice work! My coffee place of choice at the moment. The reason for four stars? I haven’t eaten at Colab although the breakfast menu looks enticing it will take some adjustments and discussion with the staff to find a coeliac friendly option. Maybe another time :)

Just off the start of King William St in the heart of Adelaide you will find a project named Co-Lab. This is a collaboration of master-minds from Sad-Café and Lazy Susan Lunch Club; they are offering a great selection of breakfast and lunch items on the menu. What a wonderful use of space as part of a project from RenewSA. It is so great to see unused space utilised so creatively. It seems to bring people together and is definitely creating a buzz in the CBD. After inspecting the coffee menu, I went for the cold filtered coffee. I am a huge fan of cold filtered coffee it is so refreshing. And that, it was! The coffee was great quality and tasted smooth and flavoursome. You can really tell the quality of the coffee and skill of the barrister when the coffee is cold. There is no heat masking any flavours. Colab make the good stuff! As for the food, I have not tried anything yet. It was just a quick coffee stop for me for a meeting. I was eyeing off some very yummy looking baguettes on display though. I would recommend stopping in if you have a meeting, there is plenty of space for this and the tables are a good size if you need to bring the laptop.
