Ancient World

What a little gem of a location! Thanks to Joy for the little map posted on her review, that’s very handy! Down an alleyway and around a corner, Ancient World is a fantastic venue — we came here as part of a Fringe event, an experimental noise + visual show that was perfectly suited for this space.
I was very impressed with the bar selections — an excellent choice of local cider, beer and wine (hello Hither & Yon!), and you can even get coconut water ;)
This place is relaxed and laid back, toilets are easy to find in the outdoor area (I like places with toilets that are easy to find, lol!), and there is a separate room downstairs with seating. I would have given this place 5 stars, but a couple of girls at the bar were very rude to my partner, and that put a bit of a dampener on the place.

If you would like to be transported into a world where the bar tenders are scientists who serve knowledge as a garnish for the drinks and the music weather it be live or plain loud noise is as varied as a Miley Cyrus’ outfits THEN GO TO ANCIENT WORLD.
I have the privilege of knowing the owners and Brad & Dave never disappoint a crowd with their wit, generosity and ridiculously open minds.
Come here ONLY if you would like to relax in the weirdness that is humanity.
